Still the best

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already use this SSD about two week in my desktop, mainly for game and some video file. Overall I am quite satisfy with it, but it is not perfect, so I only give 80 out of 100. The speed is really fast. I test it by CrystalDiskMark and got around 7,100 MB/s read and 6,300 MB/s write, this is very close to what Samsung claim on the box, so no exaggeration. Copy a 40GB game folder from my old drive only need about 1 minute. Daily use like open Photoshop, load a big project, boot the Windows, everything feel instant. The install is also very easy, only one screw, my motherboard detect it immediately, no driver need to install. But one thing you should check first is your M.2 slot position. In my case the slot is very close to the graphic card, the airflow there is not so good, so please look at your own layout before you buy. 2TB is a correct choice for me. Nowadays one AAA game already take 100-150GB, so 1TB drive will be full too quick. I already put 900GB inside but still have a lot of space, I don't need to think about delete something anymore, this feeling is very good. The part I don't like is, there is no heatsink inside the box. When I do a long time large file writing, the temperature go up to almost 70 degree and the speed drop very noticeable, after maybe 200GB it become slow like a normal SATA drive. For normal gaming or save some photo this situation will never happen, but if you edit 4K video, you better prepare your own cooling by yourself. Another small problem is the Samsung Magician software. It works fine, but it want you to register an account and always run in background. So I just install it, update the firmware, then uninstall. About the gaming I must be honest. Compare with my previous Gen4 SSD, the loading time difference is only 1-2 second in Cyberpunk. Although the number look very impressive, but actually your eye cannot feel it. Because most game are not so heavy for the drive, so if you already have a decent NVMe, this upgrade is not so urgent, unless you really need the capacity. Fast, quiet, easy to install, capacity is enough, and Samsung quality is always reliable. It lose some point because no heatsink and the thermal throttling. But I still recommend it. 80/100.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upgraded my PC with the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB and I'm really happy with it. Installation was simple, and I noticed immediately how much faster everything loads. Windows boots quickly, games load faster, and moving larger files doesn't take nearly as long as it used to. 2TB is also a great amount of storage without constantly worrying about running out of space. So far it's been fast, reliable, and exactly what I expected from Samsung. Definitely recommend it if you're looking to upgrade your PC with a fast NVMe SSD.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I added this SSD as a standalone storage partition to my PC. My PC had zero issues recognizing and partitioning the volume. The SSD has a great read/write speed, and performs well above my needs for regular file and video storage and small application downloads. This has been a great addition to my PC for everyday tasks; I have been able to quickly transfer video files onto this drive. That being said; I personally would not utilize this SSD in any high performance/gaming environments as this SSD does not come with any onboard DRAM to assist with its tasks, and will need to rely on your existing RAM to do so.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upgrading from a previous x3 gen delivers an immediate performance boost. Games and large files load almost instantly, The system feels consistently snappy under daily workloads. Most recent < 5years motherboards support the x4 standard which you'll need to get the absolute best
Installation is completely straightforward. The drive easily slots into the motherboard and fits underneath standard heatsinks .
The standout feature outside of the performance is the Samsung Magician software. Its built-in data migration tool simplifies the cloning process entirely that allows for minimum system downtime

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I added this Samsung SSD to my AI rig after model files and ComfyUI workflows started consuming my available storage. Installation was simple, Windows recognized it immediately, and everything has been fast and responsive. It gives me plenty of room for models, generated images, and future projects. A solid upgrade with no issues so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is Samsungs 990 SSD in 2 TB configuration. This works in any M.2 slot and reads and writes very fast. I already have another one of these in my Playstation 5 and just got another one for my home computer. I have nothing bad to say and am continually impressed by its speed and consistency.

A Robust SSD for all needs
on September 4, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll be honest, I wasn't the one who wanted this thing. My spouse ordered it and he was excited about a computer part, because that's him.
What actually got my attention wasn't the actual speed of the SSD, but rather how the SSD handled all the graphics and designs and that is when I got very happy that my spouse purchases this SSD, I watched the kitchen and patio renovation stuff come together faster. We had a ridiculous number of design mockups and reference photos floating around while we were figuring out layouts, and I remember being annoyed for weeks with how long it took to flip between files on the old setup. That stopped being a problem. I didn't ask why, I just noticed I wasn't sitting there waiting anymore.
I also know it gets used for my spouse's volunteer work stuff, spreadsheets and records for the nonprofit organization he supports, big files that used to take a beat to open. Now they don't. I don't pretend to understand all the technical side of any of this, I just know things open when you click them instead of a few seconds later.
Over several days and weeks I used the SSD for all day to day needs like moving large amount of data files between our computers, rendering graphics for CAD and I genuinely did not notice any difference in performance or degradation since the very first day we put the SSD to use. Perhaps if I am doing serious 4K or 8K video work I would notice but I did not do that just yet.
Would I have bought this myself unprompted? Probably not, I don't shop for SSDs. But now that it's in and doing its job quietly in the background, I get why people care about this stuff more than I used to.
