Used for officiating crew for football games, had a double header, exceeded my expectations, still had 1 bar of power remaining. Highly recommend them, waiting on the in ear headset to be released.

ClipTalk radios, a step up in our business safety

These are by far the clearest sounding two way radios we have used for our business. They are very light and much more friendly than the normal walkie talkie type radios. Our only issue is that we communicate quite a bit in our business which seems to use battery life pretty fast. On our first day using them we had to switch back to our old radios due to low battery in the Clip Talks. Since then, we have been charging them as much as we can during lunch period. Not sure that’s great for the battery, but it’s better than having to change to something that we can’t hear as well. All in all, it was a good move for the crew safety. Communication is paramount on our jobs.

The Clip Talk Micros work great for our wheeling trip this weekend. We have the Midland handheld radios, that work very well but are not as conducive to wheeling as the Clip Talks are. My wife (the driver) usually has a hard time figuring out where to put the radio that would make it easy to communicate while driving over obstacles and I (the spotter) would always snag the radio connected to my hip on the seatbelt getting out. With the Clip Talks, we can easily wear them all day. Additionally, having the earpiece that sits on the ear (versus in) makes them very comfortable to wear all day. I highly recommend the Clip Talk Micro radios.

Purchased these to wear while my wife and I ride our ebikes and to communicate to each other when backing our RV. Had not realized there was an option for hands free operation, which we took as a huge plus and eventually is the reason for just three stars. First, right out of the box they were charged and using the push to talk, easy to communicate. We did notice if we were too close (like 5-8 ft) when we tested them, the reception was hit and miss. The issues began when we opted for the hands free. According to instructions, you use the app, bluetooth pair just one, and then select the hands free option. After than it should work flawlessly. Not so much...First, after the initial bluetooth pair I could stand about 10ft from my wife and see "loss bluetooth" on my smart phone. Internet said a smart phone connection wasn't necessarily, you just needed one to access all of the options. Ok, so back to the test. If we were lucky, our hands free worked about 40% of the time. I walked around outside and again, about 40% of the time could communicate with my wife. This percent was about 60-70% if I used the push to talk button. The manual says they can communicate about a mile apart. I don't think so, I think it's more like 100 meters and you have to be within site. They were cheap so we won't be returning them but we are disappointed.

This is a great radio in a small package. No more knocking a radio off you belt, or getting cords wrapped around everything. Works great around the Church campus for security communications. Small, lite weight and easy to use.

After running several tests with these radios....I am very pleased with the performance. I expected very limited range but was pleasantly surprised to find that they work very well with both vertical and horizontal obstructions like walls and ceilings within a structure and also quite well outdoors with trees and varied topography. Please keep in mind...that these are designed for use when the operators are in relatively 'close' proximity to one another. They worked quite well on my 10 acre wooded and hilly camp property where the topography allows good line of sight. Transmissions are crisp and clear, and the earpiece is comfortable to wear over the ear...not jammed in there...so you can still use that ear when not TX'ing. Phone app is a nice addition, which is free with sign-up or subscription needed
