I bought this to clean an area rug in my living room, and my car rugs. So far I have just used it for the area rug, which isn't exactly what it is intended for. It would work really well for spot cleaning or for use in the car, but is not really made for large areas. I found my rug is too large and thick, requiring me to have to fill up the tank a lot, and go over sections of the rug. It would probably be much easier to use an upright cleaner for this purpose. That being said, it does work well for the purpose it was intended.
