This is a great spot cleaner! One tank-full took care of the area where the kids sit in the dining room and some footprints from the nearby front door. I had to empty the dirty water tank three times, but the second time was just before the clean tank ran out. I do wish the dirty water tank could hold a little more but that is a small issue. The size is wonderful- it would fit under a kitchen or bathroom sink, or in a linen closet. And it is nice and light. I am mildly irritated that the use of anything else in the cleaner voids the warranty. I had a massive headache after using the included cleaners. I will try diluting the solution more in the future and maybe just using water. I'd love to use vinegar, it is so annoying how all these mainstream solutions have "fragrances" which just make me ill! But this machine is worth having even if I only use the brush/suction feature.
What I liked most about the Spot Clean is how compact and mobile it is. It's not a bulky unit and it's very easy to carry around. It does the job that it's suppose to do. Would recommend to friends.
This machine by far is one of the worst motorized machines I have ever used. 1. The suction is so weak it barely picks up 1/4 of the solution it puts down. 2. When spraying the solution, it over-saturates where it is not needed. 3. The deep reach tool squirts solution out the sides of head. EXTREME pressure on the head is required not to do so. 4. Dirty water container needs to be emptied at least 3 times per full solution tank. 5. Gasket does not stay in place causing all sorts of leakage. 6. Cleaning solution costs a fortune. 7. Extremely loud for such a weak motor.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry you are disappointed with your machine. To ensure you are getting the best suction with your machine, please check out this link for some tips: http://www.bissell.com/FAQDetail.aspx?id=29174. The Deep Reach tool is designed to work deep into the carpet fibers not on the surface. This way you get a deeper cleaning. With the gasket not staying in place, we can send a new cap/insert out to you that include the gasket. Please click here for a replacement: http://www.bissell.com/email-us/
Whoever engineered this model was obviously the last in his/her class of product design! (1.) The hose is too short, (2.) Spray comes out the sides of the deep cleaning tool, (3.) Instructions specify using the Oxygen boost in conjuntion with the cleaner and the supply tank is marked to use both but your own website doesn't show the O2 boost product, so how much cleaner are you supposed to use if you don't use the O2 boost product? Very poor instruction format!, (4.)It doesn't appear that the base was designed to have this unit sitting on a carpet, since the vacuum air intake is on the bottom of the unit!, (5.) It appears that you expect the purchasers of your product to critique your product and tell you what is wrong with it! Is this correct?

Butch, thanks for the feedback. I have a few answers for you, and the rest we'll pass on to our design department. The Deep Reach tool is meant to be pressed into the carpet before spraying as it sprays sideways in and around the carpet, hence the name Deep Reach. You can find our OXYgen Boost at this link: http://www.bissell.com/oxygen-boost-carpet-cleaning-formula/?icid=ccrr If you don't have any, you can replace it with water. The OXYgen Boost cleans better though. Lastly, the air intake is actually on the back of the unit, not on the bottom. Feel free to set the unit down while cleaning. I hope this helps. Thanks.
Our cat started to urinate on our bed and love seat recliner. I noticed a reddish stain and immediately called the Vet. Our 8 year old cat that we saved from certain death at the local humane shelter had a stone in her bladder. Seems a cat when in pain from such a thing it associates the cat litter box with that pain and looks for softer places like your bed! Surgery fixed the problem but now she was attracted to the bed and love seat. We tried oxy clean, pet products you spray to repel cats, car upholstery shampoo, tin foil under a towel to "Scare" her. Not one worked. The bed and love seat cost well over $4000 bucks. The bed is a sleep number adjustable bed. I went in search of a solution and the Bissell Spot Clean 5207 came up as highly recommended to take care of the problem. The love seat was stained a faded rose color as was the bed. We used Bissell 2X Pet Stain & Odor Formula 74R72 with the OXYgen BOOST Formula 0801A. The stains are gone and the cat has stopped leaving her rose colored "presents" on our furniture. I have the Bissell hard floor machine and it has worked well for over 6 years now. I just should have known to go back to Bissell for the solution. Thanks again for a product that actually works.
I could not imagine such a small machine could do such a BIG job!! I have my carpets professionally cleaned regularly and I bought this to use around the baseboards that the carpet cleaners could not get close to. What a surprise when the water was almost black!!! This machine is also great for steps and any area where you have a spot or stain. The people who commented about the water spraying everywhere, NEED TO READ THE DIRECTIONS and use the machine as instructed!!!
I have just started to use this wonderful machine and it's hard to believe the results of this powerful and efficient unit!! I'm using it for pet stains (vomit) from a cat who is entering kidney failure. It completely removes both fresh and dried spots quickly and leaves the area amazingly dry. It is light weight and easy to store!! The cleaning solution doesn't discolor the rug as does "Resolve for Pet Stains". Thank you for creating a really superb machine!!!
I was surprized to some positive reviews of this machine but honestly this machine is a absolute piece of junk it does not do any better than a hot sponge and dish soap and it's a pain setting it up, you have to add hot water then the two solutions and when you see the results you will ask yourself was this really worth the money.
