Same results as Coco. Bought it in May. Hose leaked from the beginning, a very small spray at the connection to the machine. The suction is very poor, leaving water in/on the surface we are cleaning. Looking at the other comments this seems to be a VERY COMMON PROBLEM (NOTE TO BISSELL). The hose is also quite stiff, making it awkward to use. As I am reading the other comments, I noticed that others had a similar very dangerous situation - ͇i͇t͇ ͇p͇o͇p͇p͇e͇d͇ ͇s͇e͇v͇e͇r͇a͇l͇ ͇c͇i͇r͇c͇u͇i͇t͇ ͇b͇r͇e͇a͇k͇e͇r͇s͇ ͇a͇n͇d͇ ͇m͇o͇r͇e͇ ͇i͇m͇p͇o͇r͇t͇a͇n͇t͇l͇y͇,͇ I͇T͇ ͇C͇A͇U͇G͇H͇T͇ ͇F͇I͇R͇E͇.͇ ͇ ͇ Prior to this cleaner we have had 2 Green Machines and loved them, recommended them, and bought a new one when the older one died (many years each). This one started out as a good cleaner, but soon turned into a disaster. Stiff hose, leaking and then catching fire (a little humor here, of course I had just gotten an 18 inch X 18 inch square all wet, sprayed and scrubbed to. Next step was to suck all the dirt off ) Too Bad - Really like Bissell, but this model was a disaster and dangerous to use. Will recommend Bissell but will recommend NOT TO GET THIS ONE, OR ANY OF ITS SIBLINGS.

I just left a review that I don't see about this product (about the thing sparking and flaming right next to my baby, and also how the hose leaks by the handle). I wanted to update my review: If I could, I would give 0 stars. I like the look of it, but like I said in my previous review, the handle leaks (getting dirty pee and chemicals on my hands), and it flamed up. Maybe I just received a faulty product. Either way, I contacted customer service and all they offered was- For me to wait to receive a paper in the mail to put on the box (a box that I have to go and get myself and package the cleaner up) and then send it back. Wait until they've inspected and replaced any faulty parts (which she informed me it will take up to 7-14 business days for inspection) and then send it back to me. I just had a baby. My dog has been peeing everywhere (she's upset that she's not the baby anymore) and I need this ASAP. NOT a month, two months, or even longer for the same exact thing to be sent back to me. I would be MUCH happier if they replaced this faulty cleaner with an entire new one. Being that it almost started a fire and all. My Father ended up just buying me a new one instead of letting me go through this elongated ordeal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice look, faulty product

FAULTY. I really liked this product at first. I just had a baby and my dog is peeing all over the carpet and this really helped me to clean the pee off of the carpet. However, as I use it, liquids leak out from the hose getting pee/chemicals all over my hands. The clip for the hose handle is too big and won't hold any part of the hose/head. And just today I tried to clean a pee spot on the carpet with my baby beside me in the living room and the thing sparked and almost caught on fire. Filled the room with electrical smoke. MY BABY WAS RIGHT BESIDE ME. Something could have happened and I am extremely not happy about this.

Not impressed with my Spot Clean 5207-1

I bought this in 2013, for spot cleaning area rugs and sofa, in an apartment with tile floors. First use, I could not figure out why water leaks out of the base, and sprays out the side spray head. Contacted Bissell and they basically told me I was not doing something right. Also asked how to open the spray heads to get fibers & haid out - they don't open. I have used it occasionally over the last few years, but find it is more work to clean up the mess it makes, than to use it. Used it again today, and for 2 5-foot area rugs and 2 sofa cusions, I had to fill the cleaing tank 3 times! Puddles on the floor under the unit (as always), solution spraying a foot out the sides of the spray head, not down on the rug (as usual) - a huge mess to clean up after I finished the rugs. Very dissappointed; I probably would not buy another Bissell product.

great little cleaner

We love this cleaner. Perfect for little spills and stains. I love when I dont have to pull out the big machine for spot cleaning. It was easy to use, empty and take apart. The water did not fully leave the containers, so it took almost 5 days to dry them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible product

This product is terrible! I bought it two years ago to spot clean a 5x8 rug. It leaked everywhere even though I followed the directions exactly. I put it away and forgot about it. Last Tuesday we had a rare monsoonal storm with 60mph winds and torrential rain. Water came in my locked sliding door off my master bedroom balcony. Even my light blocking window panels were soaked on the bottom. I blotted up most of the water by stomping on towels. Decided to use this machine to clean the area by the door. Leaked the whole time even though everything was connected properly. Dirty container had no water in it at the end, even though the vacuum was working. Don't know where the dirty water went. Very frustrating! Putting on the curb with free sign!

Sorry to hear about the flood, Cindy. If dirty water is leaking from the machine, chances are the center stack in the tank is not fully secured in place or the gasket is misaligned or missing. Great at removing pet stains and odors!!

Didn't realize that one of my cat's decided to "decorate" one of my closets. It smelled good to him, but to me, not so much. The Bissell SpotClean saved the day!! It was easy to set-up, the suction action was powerful, and my closet smells good again. Definitely a good purchase for my household!
