My original complaint on this machine was the hand sparyer/wand. It sprays out all sides and not where it is needed. I have not been able to use this without getting everything around it wet. After about 4 times of using this machine, it leaks everywhere. I actually made a bigger mess than what I was trying to clean. Once it started leaking, it repeatedly tripped the breaker on the outlet I was using. Very disappointed in this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Nick - if you;re using the deep reach tool to clean, make sure it's being firmly pressed into the carpet, this tool should not be used for upholstery or general cleaning which the 3 inch brush will work great for. If the machine is leaking, this could be caused by the center stack in the dirty water tank not being fully screwed in place or gasket is missing. These quick steps will help! https://www.bissell.com/support/helpful-resources/faqs/faq-detail-page?id=0f432673-2722-457d-bb12-58f28c507d94&cid=ccsocial2107
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use.Great for household with kids. Wishing the cleaner hose was longer. It's a little noisy. But cleans very well.
I had the Little Green Machine for a long time but gave it to my daughter & bought this. I prefer the LGMachine. This SpotClean sprays too wide, leaving too much wet carpet.

Thanks for the feedback on the spray, Ann - the Little Green and this cleaner use a similar upholstery tool which should have the same spray pattern. If you're using the deep reach tool, make sure its firmly over the stain when spraying as the needles will need to penetrate the carpet to clean.
In my previous house, I used a floor steam machine. In my apartment I only need small cleaner.i fought the problem of not picking up the solution it put down. Yes, for carpet, some is absorbed. All I want is the machine to soak the carpet and pick up the fluid. I went to a discount store to get the factory reconditioned green machine (which heats the water in the machine) but they did not have one. I bought the spot clean as I needed one. The task was to clean some accidents from our dog (both ends) that I had cleaned up, but did not look good. I also had some eye makeup spots under my wife's dressing table. I used the Oxi-clean solution that came with it. The results were outstanding. There is no trace left. I have to affirm some of the negative comments. I could not unscrew the bottom of the collection jar. I had to rinse it out through the little access hole. The "pro-heat" in the name is just bait and switch. I am concerned about the lack of parts. I believe in "patch it, fix it, or do without." I do not believe in throw it away and get another one. So bottom line is good to go. Time will tell.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This SpotClean Pro cleaned better than Zerorez professional cleaners!! It even got old stains out of my sofa!
I bought this because I have a dog that can't seem to figure out where to pee. The machine works fine for cleaning up the little messes. It doesn't seem to suck up nearly as much as it sprays out, but that is to be expected. However, after only a few months, the hose has cracked at the end so now there is no suction. Unfortunately, this part can not be replaced so now the machine is useless. I also noticed that sometimes my machine leaked from the bottom during use. Aggravating, but I just put a think towel underneath it.
Called and got a free replacement for the larger head but it too sprayed water out the sides. But the base unit works so nicely that I will find a way to fix this. The cleaner and water catcher tanks are sooo easy to use! It is also very powerful at sucking water out of the rugs that, when you press firmly and move the head slowly over the cleaned spot, it almost leaves the rug dry.
