These knives are super sharp! Blade is thinner and more flexible than any other knives I’ve owned. So far I like them. The metal handles do get discolored if you don’t dry right away but generally good knives.
My daughter and her husband loved the selection of knives included in this set. Great opportunity to have such a variety of products for a very reasonable price. I've been a Rada customer for almost ten years and now my daughters are too!
I have been using these for over 20 yrs. I love them. The best I have ever had. I made a mistake and put in dishwasher and my handle are dull now, but they are still sharp. So the new ones are got I wash by hand now. If I had the money are would by all there products. Very good company.
I recently bought a set of 6 steak knives, a "starter" kitchen knife set and was gifted a ham-slicer, chef's knife and a deboning knife.
The steak knifes are kind of dull near the tip, so, although they're okay overall, cutting through the little tendons on Delmonicos was difficult and I almost ended up with a steak on my lap. As mentioned below, a thicker blade would allow for deeper/sharper serrations, like those on my Cutco and Ginsu are.
The other knives I've used were very sharp out of the box (as they should be). My only complaint is the blade-thickness. If they were 25% thicker/heavier, I'd be thrilled. We'll see how well I can re-hone them with a steel and I'm curious to see how well they hold an edge.
I haven't used it yet, but I know I'm going to love the tomato-slicer and the peeler seems well made too, if very basic.
I bought them to consolidate and bring some uniformity to my kitchen knives (although I have a few really good knives, my collection if a mishmash) and because they're made in the US. During these challenging times, I wanted to support an American company (and your products are highly-rated, as well). Hopefully, others think like I do and your business hasn't been too drastically effected by the shut-downs.
At your price point, I must say these knives are very good, but I would have paid more for heavier, more-robust blades. Still, they are comfortable to use, have a unique design/appearance and I will recommend Rada knives to anyone looking for decent, affordabley-priced kitchen knives. Absolutely.
I have had several Rada paring and tomato knives in the past and they never disappoint. I use my knives in a daily basis and hope to continue adding to my collection going forward.
