Wow, my best friend Cathy in WV GAVE me my first ever Rada Granny pairing knife. I just peeled 5 lbs of potatoes, like it was nothing, totally effortless. I am so impressed and so I just had to say, thank you for making a quality product and in the USA.
This little reverse curved paring knife is great for cutting small items held in your hand. I used it for the first time to cut a bruised spot out and then slice a small unpeeled apple. It was very handy and sharp. I do have to be careful to not get tricked into holding it with the sharp side up, though, because it is curved differently from my other knives. I also bought one for a friend. I like the black handles which aren't damaged if they go in the dishwasher, although I try to wash my knives by hand. Nice addition to your Rada collection.
I love EVERYTHING Rada! From the knife sharpener (which is my absolute FAVORITE of any) to the granny paring knife to the cooks knife. They are all the best in my opinion.
The Rada Granny is one of my three go-to knives in the kitchen. However, it has become my favorite for grafting fruit trees and bushes as well. The size and the curve of the blade make it easier to get precise cuts on scion wood twigs necessary to get good contact with the rootstock. After grafting it cleans up slick and easy and goes back in the kitchen rack. I'll probably have to buy a spare, just to have another one handy.
I absolutely love this knife- but i use it to process chickens. That sharp little tip makes delicate fileting or even more radical moves function with ease. I am a most successful farm wife with this little beauty.I think because I have small hands this knife is a better fit for me than the more elaborate filet knives men like to use. I can control it and it is so sharp it requires little effort on my part. So glad my grandparents introduced me to Rada knives over 30 years ago.
