We have been fans of GE for 5 years owning many GE appliances including Cafe. They have been reliable and include up to date technology. We chose this refrigerator based on the size, tall water dispenser and interior space.
- The ice maker/water dispenser is the worst we've ever used. When set to cube ice you still get a lot of crushed ice mixed in. This wouldn't be a problem, except that some of the crushed ice misses the glass and goes everywhere. Holding the glass all the way up helps some, but not completely. It also dispenses the ice slowly, taking a surprisingly (and annoyingly) long time to fill a glass.
- The water dispenser tends to drip for a couple seconds after you move the glass out, dripping water.
- Both these issues are magnified by the lack of a drip tray below the bottom of the dispenser. So water just pools on the self, and ice chips tend to bounce out and onto your floor. We bought an generic aftermarket tray that helps, but it doesn't fit perfectly so it only partially helps the problem.
- You have to push the Ice button (since you probably dispensed water last), insert glass, pull back glass, push Water button, then insert and pull back glass again. Very annoying when you're used to having separate dispensers for ice and water so you don't have to press the buttons every time.
- For some reason when you open the refrigerator door the interior light is dimmed. It takes it several seconds to get up to full brightness.
- There are a limited number of shelf positions. Two possible positions for each shelf. We would prefer if there were more options so we could potentially add another shelf.
What really hurts is that every time we get some ice or open the door it's a reminder that we screwed up this purchase, and we'll be living with it for years to come.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to share some information regarding your refrigerator. It is not unusual to see a few drops of water dripping from the dispenser on your Refrigerator after having dispensed water. This is caused by pressure on the water line and changes in temperature causing some condensation to form and drip.
To help you with your dispenser's performance, we recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our Bodewell technicians by calling 1-833-4BODEWELL or online here: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service.
We are going to share your comments regarding the shelf positions with our product team for review.
THE INSTALLERS FORGOT TO REMOVE STICKY STUFF ON REFRIGERATOR DOOR, AND I CAN'T GET IT OFF. I NEED SOMEONE TO COME BY AND REMOVE IT FOR ME.

DO NOT BUY!!!! The refrigerator has been installed for 1 month and after 5 service visits and fully replacing the water and ice dispenser, it still fails to dispense ice. Finally, the water dispenser is working.

It's loud when the water refills the ice maker, Startling at times. The water dispenser tends to drip sometimes so I keep a folded paper towel to catch it, so far not too bad which is good since there is no drain at the bottom of it. Not especially thrilled with the dispenser bar/activation. It's hard to clean it without having water or ice flowing out onto my hand when wiping it down. Absolutely LOVE the taller dispenser opening.
Ice dispenser does not work properly, ice will not dispense. Only water dispenser works.

We want to assist with your refrigerator's ice dispenser operation. Please confirm that the ice maker is turned on and the dispenser is not locked on the control panel. Also, check that the ice bin is properly installed and that there is no ice obstructing the dispenser chute. Additional troubleshooting can be found on page 35 of the manual: https://images.salsify.com/image/upload/s--ainV5tF0--/3cf7f0f847e32814e11348004a414ce8fce911b7.pdf.
