I’m going to start by singing my praise, then I will give an objective review of this device.
So first and foremost, I am incredibly in love with this danged speaker. When I say it surpassed ALL my expectations with regards to sound, I mean it! It fits in my purse with room to spare. It is perfect in the shower. It’s extremely durable, I don’t even cringe when I drop it. It even feels good to the touch. It’s sleek and attractive. Easy to pair and reconnect. And the strap is surprisingly secure.
I got this speaker as a better solution for sound in my car. It’s just old enough to be without bluetooth Capability and as soon as I got my car, Apple removed the aux port on the iphone. That little adapter is a joke, the adapter cables are clumsy, so I decided I wanted a simple portable speaker. Little did I know just how much more this speaker would revolutionize my music and movie watching beyond my car.
When I chose to get this speaker, I assumed because of the price and size it would likely perform at a less than quality than what I’m used to from bose but I hoped that it would still live up to the reputation Bose has rightfully earned.
As i stated earlier, it far exceeded my expectations.
I actually prefer it over my TV speakers now!
Now, I shower with it, I don’t have to stop listening to my music just because i’ve turned my car off, I’m just walking around with music bumping in my purse. I’m like the workplace dj at work now. This thing goes everywhere with me!

I 100% recommend this speaker! And that is in spite of the cons I am going to list below.
PROS/CONS (based on 5 star ratings):

Biggest disappointment is taking calls. It’s pretty bad. While it is equipped to take calls, the volume drops significantly and the mic isn’t strong enough to be heard well, so calls in the car is a definite no-go.

The sound is impeccable. It can fill any room and gets really loud. But it doesn’t battle the ambient car/road noise as well as I’d hoped. The volume is just fine, but the lush Bose sound quality becomes a tad hollow. Ah well! I can easily live with it. Still better than most other speakers.

Bluetooth Connectability (5/5)
Connecting is easy through the app. If my phone disconnects, simply toggling the speaker’s power button off and on, reconnects it. Very simple and easy. I can pair it with all my devices...The connection is clean and constant. I’ve had a couple random instances of the playback glitching when I opened the Bose app, but it’s not every time.

Battery (5/5)
I’ve yet to have it die on me. The battery lasts so long and it’s so easy to charge. Simple mini-USB to plug into your car, computer, mobile charger, or wall charger, and you can even keep listening...?? I’ve yet to skip a beat with this speaker.

I got 2 of these to try the stereo mode using the BOSE App. That configuration delivers a great sound.

I bought two of these speakers as I wanted to try the stereo sound available through the Bose Connect App. The give a great sound with plenty of bass. I have tested them with music fro heavy rock to opera and all tests have been to my satisfaction. Maria Callas and Meatloaf sound great! I finally can send my stereo to the recycle center. The firmware update on both took an hour each to complete.

The plug-in at the back was not usable, it only plugged in once and came out again and we were never able to use it again, this was a gift from work, so I want to say I've used it and it works great! Well, it does work great when I can power it.

Bought this product a year ago, I’m a messenger in New York City and I’ve put this speaker thru the harshes test, dropped it, rain and snow, not an hour or two hours almost 12 hours in rain and snow expecting for my speaker to sound different the next day after all the water and snow it endures while music was playing,we’ll it doesn’t, every time I turn it on sounds like the first time I bought it, love the size of it easy goes on your backpack strap or bike, strap doesn’t seem very sturdy, but it hasn’t ripped or broke so I still give it a thumbs up because I thought it wasn’t going to last long, but it did. wonderful product
