I bought this darling little blue Bose speaker for a 10 day cruise I’m going on in November. I can’t stop listening to my XM on it now. Thanks guys I love my purchase.
I just ordered my 4th and 5th SoundLink Micro. I enjoy great sound while riding my bicycle with two SoundLink Micros pumping stereo from my handlebars. What makes this a win win is I get amazing sound and the safety of being able to hear the area around me. The sound is solid and hangs in there mile after mile as I travel along the trails hour after hour. My bike riding went to a new level once I added this accessory and I am so happy I did..
This was my fourth Bose purchase, with two of those being gifts for others. The sound quality is AMAZING in this tiny speaker. I loved cruising along on my bike listening to music, taking it to the beach, etc. However the strap on this speaker needs to be redesigned. The first two days I used it, it detached several times — from my backpack strap, my purse strap, and my bike basket handle. I reasoned that it needed to be fastened around something thicker to put more tension on the quick-release strap. So after putting it onto a part of my bike with approx. 1/2” diameter and going over a minor bump on the paved path, it popped off and I ran over it with my bike tire. That pulled the skin away from the back on one corner, breaking the waterproof and dust-proof seal. It also scraped through the skin on the front. While the accident didn’t affect the sound, it would affect the water- and sand/dust-proof capability. Since I live at the beach, I returned it for a refund. My advice to Bose is to redesign the strap closure so it will stay closed through bounces that are normal during the types of activities shown on their website. It’s too “quick release”. I’ll purchase it again if the strap closure were redesigned, or if a grommet or hook were added so it could be attached to things with a carabiner.

Hello,
I'm very sorry to hear of your recent experience with the SoundLink Micro. That certainly shouldn't have happened and you did the right thing getting in touch. This isn't a common occurrence and you should rest assured knowing the speaker was designed for such use cases so I'm confident this was likely an isolated incident.
If you do purchase the speaker again in the future, please feel comfortable to use the speaker in the same manner and remember we offer a one-year warranty for if something like this was to occur.
