The quality of the replacement hinge is better - harder and thicker. Why didn't the cooler come with this quality hinge in the first place?

These hybrid hinges appear to be very strong and work good. They were very easy to install. These hinges should have been on the cooler when it was new and this cooler would have been a 5 star cooler. Now you need heavy duty handles so that when my cheap plastic ones break again I can install a good product and be done with fixing the cooler.

upgraded to replace the broken lightweight ones that came on the cooler. Glad I was able to get replacements so I didn't have to buy a new cooler right now, but disappointed they charged an outrageous shipping fee for such a tiny lightweight item.
