This is a great watch with lots of bells and whistles. I like all that it does, except for the heart rate monitor is way, way off. My actual heart rate was around 70 during a relaxation yoga class, and the watch alerted me saying my heart rate was 180!! NOT!! It kept showing I was around 125 to 130, when in fact I was between 60 to 70. Then all of a sudden it showed 63 and started reading correctly. It did the same thing yesterday when I was doing weight training... pulse rate showed way higher that it actually was. Everything else is working great thought. Watch is also very comfortable to wear.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't owned a Samsung Watch in a very long time and boy have they come a LONG way! This is my honest review of the Galaxy Watch 8
Right out of the box my first impression was "Wow, this watch is BIG!" I am a petite woman and usually go for the smaller watches and step trackers, like fitbit. However, after playing around and learning everything this watch can do - it makes sense. For instance, the customizable watch faces would not work well with a small screen. Which actually is one of my favorite features about this watch.
The sound quality is pretty good, as well. I have made and received calls with no problems hearing the person on the other end and they had no problems hearing me. I don't use this feature much, because I don't want to be THAT PERSON who talks loudly on calls in public spaces. IYKYK. But it is a useful feature to have, nonetheless. I usually use it to take calls while I'm cooking. It totally beats having to stop what I am doing to run and find my phone.
I really am enjoying this watch. I am still learning it, and I am having fun with it. The only cons that I can think of is the battery life doesn't last as long as I would hope, but I also am used to smaller watches that are just basic and don't do everything that this watch does. And I do wish that it was a little bit smaller, but I do like the fact that I can change the band and that is probably what I will do.
I am satisfied with my purchase. It has more features than my Galaxy Watch4. The option of a blue strap over the black is a nice option. It seems to have more stability for some watch functions than my Watch4. The battery lasts barely more than a day, which seems like a very slight improvement over the Watch4. One thing I do not like, which my Watch4 had was that when I count steps, the steps defaults to the normal watch face after only 2 minutes. On my watch4, the steps stayed visible for as long as I walked. The Watch8 defaulting at 2 minutes is very annoying and useles.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This watch is great and I absolutely love the OS where you can scroll down to access apps. I even use my hiking app on here! It connects via Bluetooth easily to my phone, no problems! Can water lock it and remotely use your phone camera. While I love the feel of the band update to where it's only textured on the inside now, I do prefer where the band also moves up, not just down - which was a change from the 7. The battery life is pretty good as well - depending on what apps you use! I'll keep buying Samsung!
