I found the Nest to be intuitive, easy to use, and efficient. I like the ability to control the temp from my home, heating up the house before I get home from work. It's inoffensively designed, and looks modern in my decor.
The Nest E proved to be a great addition to our classic home in Minnesota, which was originally built in 1900. Our furnace is an older unit that we have yet to upgrade, and incorporating a Nest unit has paid dividends. In addition to optimizing our heating and energy usage, its mobile app compatibility has brought peace of mind for me when traveling away from the house for extended periods. It's nice to check in from time to time and verify that everything is in order.

The idea that I can set this for a number of times over the course of a day, do it easily, and check/adjust remotely on a phone is almost beyond belief. It's definitely welcome. The temperature setting chart is really helpful. My only negative, and not enough to give it less than 5 stars, is that my underwhelming furnace had to run continuously for several days, and I'm convinced that's why I got up a couple of times to find the temperature way below where I'd set it. I charged the battery once, during a long cold snap, and I had no issues with that for the next few days. I'm convinced the battery had no rest time to recharge. I can definitely plan my heating accordingly, maybe upgrading to a competent heating system.
