I'm a longtime Mac user who finds the Nest and installation guide are more in the original spirit of Apple than some current Apple products.Really does install in 15 pleasant minutes. Didn't even have to pause my podcast while I did it. Works like a dream. The humidity feature is a very pleasant surprise.
I prefer this model, it's subtle, blends in nicely, unnoticeable until you need it, easy to use. The one issue I have is with the nest app's scheduling. It could use some improvements but the rest of the app is great.
I purchased this through Mass Save and was concerned it would be difficult to install . I checked compatibility and it was fine. Install was insanely easy and the device walks you through it step by step . The Nest App was not connecting on my Iphone XR so I had to do the rest of the install on my Ipad , but once it got set up the Iphone worked fine. Chat support was great and got my Home all set.
Nest has premium products and as such their products cost a bit more than competing products from Honeywell and Emerson. However, Nest products are much easier to setup — they include instructional videos, and installation is also easier.
The look is great. Lots of features. And new control previously unavailable. But it’s insanely complicated to create a schedule (at least from the phone app). Also, not giving 5 stars for lack of support of Siri or Apple HomeKit. But overall a good product, extremely simple to install. The process is literally idiot proof. The thermostat even told me I did not plug the wire to the right place!
I found the Nest to be very easy to install, and very easy to operate. The installation was explained easily, even with my older home. I also found that the operation was easy with the app. Love it so far!
