I bought the Sun Joe cordless 48 volt (two 24 v batteries) tiller cultivator 4 years ago. It worked great until recently. After a few minutes tilling it shuts off. I don't know if the electrical connection is bad or the motor is getting too warm. Anyway, I really like it and have tilled my 1700 foot garden many times over the past 4 years. The tiller wont break hard ground, it just wont dig in and bounces but if I wet the ground a little and let it soak in the tiller works great. It is best for mixing compost in already tilled ground. I am ordering another one.

Our Sun Joe has surpassed all expectations! Easy to maneuver, so quiet, long lasting batteries, prepares bed for seeds or sets with smooth, deep path. After initial big tiller does it's work Sun Joe takes over and keeps clean, weed free rows all summer. I love the way my work load is reduced!
The first year i loved it . This year spring 2024 the batteries are charged i checked the connecters on the batteries and machine. The tiller will NOT turn on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband really enjoyed using this Cordless Garden Tiller/Cultivator from Sun Joe. He would usually get gas powered, but this really impressed him. It provided enough power to get the soil ready for an 22 foot long planter by our driveway. The tiller was surprisingly quiet and was able to complete the job quickly and easily. I'm not sure how long the batteries last since we have only used it for this job, but they definitely provided the power nedded after fully charged. It was very easy to assemble and star using. Great tool to have, my husband is ready and excited to keep using it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool is a fantastic garden tiller! It did a great job turning up the dirt in my garden! I was so happy with the results that I even decided to enlarge my garden and did an additional 3 feet on the side. This was a bit more difficult since the dirt was very hard and had never been tilled before, but this tool did the job! The batteries lasted longer then I thought they would and they do recharge in about an hour. I also tried it on areas of my grass that are patchy where I wanted to plant some grass seed. It again worked great for that project! I will definitely be using it again in the Fall where I need to do more grass seeding. I found this tool to be very easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to follow. I really like the size of this tool. It is big enough to get the job done, but not too big that it is bulky to maneuver. It also does not take up too much space in my garage! I love that it is cordless but still it is very powerful. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this tool. I own several Sun Joe products and I find them to be very well made and very functional. This garden tiller also comes with a nice 2 year warranty! I highly recommend this Sun Joe garden tiller/cultivator!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I simply cannot contain my excitement about this Sun Joe Cordless Tiller/Cultivator! For the last 10 years or so I have been flipping a super long power cord all around my 400 sq ft veggie garden while I tilled with my electric cultivator. It got the job done, but added time and frustration. I was skeptical that a cordless tiller could make a dent in my KY clay soil, and when I heard how quiet the motor was, I had even less faith. Well all the skepticism went right out the window as soon as I lowered the blades on this baby! It kicked up clumps of grass that had rooted over the winter, dandelions, and everything else in its path. I didn't get a huge amount of depth with it, but I don't really need it. My garden plot is pretty well established, so I really just need to clean up the top layers and it did a great job of it. I was able to do two complete passes on one charge and it showed no signs of slowing down, so I'd say I could have done another one. It will be so much easier to pull this little machine back out when I need it to remove weeds while the garden is growing. It was almost impossible to use my corded one while I had the garden full, but with this one being cordless and easier to maneuver I think it will work so much better! For reference I am a very petite 40 year old woman.... so if I can run this fantastic little machine with ease then anyone can!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tiller works great as a touch up but isn't the strongest when it comes to tilling up new areas of land. All in all the batteries last long and if you have a garden you will definitely find this tool useful.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly was quick and easy, very intuitive. Batteries charged quickly under an hour (they might have had a charge in them and i was not watching them, just checked in an hour and was good to go) i worked on my front yard roughly 500 sf and it was more then enough juice to get that done. My back yard is 8000 sf so i have not tried it yet, but will in a week or so. so far very happy!
