Great Sound - Bluetooth Nightmare

Normally I use this to complement my already large accompaniment of Sonos products. I purchased the Sonos Move so I could freely take it onto my Deck and enjoy all this is Sonos without having to unplug, move one of my speakers to the deck and plug back in outside and wait for the speaker to come back online. Since this product can also connect via Bluetooth, I thought it would be a perfect compliment to take on a trip. I learned two valuable lessons about my Move on that trip: 1) If you plan to charge your Move using the Type-C USB port, check to make sure you have the proper cable and power adapter. If you think it will just charge attached by USB from your laptop - you will be disappointed. Make sure to test and make sure the light shows on the front before you go! 2) If you think you can wing it and connect via Bluetooth when you get there, think again! If I had read the instructions I would have known to take my already setup Move and just place it into Bluetooth mode with a single button. Instead I was hitting buttons and combinations of buttons to get my iPhone to see it; BAD MOVE! I ended up resetting the Move back to factory settings and erasing my home setup. This would be ok if I could still connect via Bluetooth only ~ BUT YOU CAN'T! So my peeve is that you can't just take a Move out of the box and start using it as a Bluetooth speaker, you need to set it up on your home network FIRST! I tried all different kind of ways to connect my Move to a network ~ but hotels and iPhone with iPad trying to create a network didn't work. I was able to see the Move on my iPad using my iPhone as a hotspot and it got most of the way thru setup, then it just failed. Is the Sonos Move a great product, yes. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a really good sounding movable wireless speaker. I've tried a few other (cheaper) Bluetooth speakers and they really do come up short on sound. This was also quite expensive ~ but most of Sonos is.

It goes outdoors as well as into the bedrooms. User can have their own music.

Love the Move! So nice to have a battery-powered device, that actually lasts 8 hours (nice touch that you can see the battery percentage in the Sonos app). I've used with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This is definitely the most flexible device in the Sonos portfolio.

Bought as a gift to go with our Sonos. We love it. We didn't realize there was a void in our current system until we added the Move module to our system. Surprised we lived without it. It takes our Sonos to the next level allowing us to listen anywhere around our home. Carry it to the garage...take it to the sunroom, or just add another speaker to our main system for sound in a 2nd room. It's great. Would highly recommend this for a nice addition that you didn't know you needed.
