I love that the move is portable and bluetooth enabled. It took a minute to get the bluetooth option to work the first time but now it syncs smoothly. The sound is great. It is a little bigger and heavier than I anticipated for a portable speaker but it's not too bad.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Bottom line is that this does what you'd want if you want a quality, battery-operated speaker so long as you can accept the assumption Sonos made that you will leave it on its charging cradle after every use. If you don't want to do that, you'll have to completely power down the speaker by holding the power button for 5 seconds then suffer a start-up latency of 20-30 seconds on the next use. Without powering off completely, the speaker wakes itself up randomly and drains its battery in less than a day.
Product is great, however a few issues I've experienced. I set up a mesh WiFi after doing initial setup with original router...speaker would not allow me to add this network, I had to factory reset and set up with mesh WiFi. No issues since...second problem is speaker stays on standby while off the base, drains battery without using
When this speaker first came out, the first thing that came to mind was what kind of sound quality could you get from a wireless speaker that could handle a minor drop and a tiny bit of moisture? Well, After about a year I decided to purchase one. I thought at worse, I could always return it. But as soon as the music started, WOW!! I couldn't believe my ears. It was definitely worth every penny.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Free Control Options, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, WiFi and Bluetooth Capable, Wireless
I keep this as a second speaker in the kitchen to fill the room a bit more. It is in a good spot to grab it and take it out to the patio. Adds some more depth mixed with my Ones and beam on the main floor. Great all around speaker.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Free Control Options, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
I purchased the Sonos Move primarily to grab it on the way out to the deck for morning coffee & outdoor social gatherings. The sound exceeded my expectations. I prefer Bluetooth only because I'm in an older neighborhood with pathetic internet service. I love the fact that you can have all your music in one location. I primarily use Spotify & Sirius XM and they work flawlessly. One other deciding factor was the ability to expand and Sonos has cornered the market. People sometimes gawk at the price. I purchased at the same time that I paid $1500 for a small patio table and 4 chairs that were made in China. My opinion is the prices should be reversed.
Pros: Bluetooth, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
I wanted to use the Move as a speakerphone primarily, for music secondarily. I called Sonos before I bought it to confirm it could be used as a speakerphone and was told, "Well, it has Bluetooth, so yes, it can also be used as a speakerphone." When I received it, I then realized it could not be used as a speakerphone, so I returned it. With work from home very common now, you'd think you would enable this feature. Otherwise, I do like my other Sonos products.
