May seem like a contradiction but I appreciate fine audio equipment but I am fairly technically challenged. Mainly short of patience but if I could figure out how to set up this, anyone can. It really is easy. Bought it for our screened porch. Use it in the kitchen and the basement to workout. Really nice sound for the little box that it is. Definitely happy with the purchase!
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
I have thought about adding some wiring and a bracket to mount a Sonos speaker outside. But the move solves that problem and is maybe a better solution. Sitting on the front porch, grab the move off it's base and take your music with you. Eating out back, grab the move. It's a simple an elegant solution for those outdoor places that are not speaker friendly. Especially when you live in the northern hinterland. I haven't tried Bluetooth yet but it works great on WiFi so far. I think the only negative is Sonos move to obsolete some of their equipment. I'm listening to music right now on an old speaker and as long as it sounds great I don't care about Alexis or voice activation. I have too much invested to buy new equipment every five years.
I didn't want to spend $ on a speaker in a room that wasn't used often but I love having music playing wherever I go. When I saw the Move, I knew it was the perfect speaker to round out my set! It is parked in one room but I grab it when I go out to water the plants, or downstairs to go through stuff. It's so easy to move around and then sits nicely back on it's charger! The sound quality isn't as great as my other Sonos speakers but it moves from room to room so it can't be optimized, but that's fine with me for this one's use. With COVID and social distancing, I bring it out on my deck when a friend stops by!
I bought two of these high priced speakers to use on my boat dock. The dock is far enough away that my WiFi is spotty down there. I liked that these speakers offer Bluetooth play but you can only use one, not a stereo pair, when using Bluetooth. When connected to WiFi and Sonos app you can use them in a stereo pair. This doesn't make much sense when other, much cheaper speakers, will allow you to link multiple speakers together and have them be designated as left and right speakers. So I have a $400 speaker that just sits on the dock. I guess now I'll have to beef up my WiFi signal ♂️
Pros: Streams All My Music, and More, Wireless
Cons: No stereo setup in Bluetooth, Poor Sound Quality
