Sold a Play 5 to make room in house and budget to try the Move. Very glad I did and well worth it. Though not as powerful as a Play 5, the versatility of the Move makes it far more useful and valuable to me. I constantly take it on our patio or in our garage without any delay or gap in music from the cradle. Surprisingly very useful as a Bluetooth speaker for smartphone and laptops too. If you have a patio or deck and you're tired of plugging in a Sonos to wait for it to get online and are extra concerned about it being in humidity or other elements, this is your missing piece of the Sonos ecosystem.
Move was my latest purchase for my patio. I have 2 sound bars as well as speakers in my office and my basement. Simple to set up, can play different music from different apps on each.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Free Control Options, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
Love all our Sonos gear, only complaint is the system gets confused by the fact we're controlling it from my MacPro as one interface and also using two Android phones. Each device has trouble recognizing when one of the other devices changes something (regroups rooms, etc.)
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Expandable, Portability, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
I have a Sonos system inside my house, but was looking for a moveable speaker for my patio. Living in Southern California, I'm outside all the time and hadn't found the perfect speaker solution. I was a bit hesitant when first seeing ads for the Move because of price and size. However, I am so glad I ordered it. Its superior sound, easy charging, sturdiness, weather resistance, quality materials and ultimate flexibility all adds up to an amazing product.
Pros: Easy to Set Up, Streams All My Music, and More, Superior Sound, Wireless
I needed more information about how to set up and use the Move. When I tried to get Help, both via internet and then phone, I found the technician strangely unable to comprehend what I was trying to say. I was able to get everything going by using Google. My problem is that 1) strangely, I received an error message after entering the password to my WiFi when in fact the Move had connected, so that I thought I had to reenter the password but could not figure out how to do so, and 2) I frankly did not understand how to use my iPhone to control the unit, so that the Move did not appear to be working.
