My old batteries were dying off. I needed a way to up date my cordless true-blue DeWalt Drill. This kit did exactly that. Straight out of the box and put to work. A win-win deal!

Go dead fast just sitting in adapter

It seems that the adapter is draining the lithium batteries while just sitting in the adapter only, & also cut out (turn off) when fully charged in tough going (start & cut out again & again), don't pack much force to them (not like the original XRP's) just take it slow. Also can't get the adapter out of the tool without removing the battery from the adapter first (extra steps/time). The Chinese have come a long way in a lot of products, I find it unusual this setup ain't right on the mark (for the $). Bought this to Replace four 2 -3 year old XRP's failing. I assumed that the lithium batteries would roast the XRP's. Bought DCA2203C in Dec of 2017 had not tried to use till 3 weeks ago. I don't have a lot of extra time.

Don't hold charge and adapter is hard to pull from

I got 2 adapter kits for my tools and it was the worse thing I ever did. Yes the batteries charge fast but do not hold a charge. On a fully charged battery I drilled 8 1/8 holes in a pine board and installed 8 screws and put my drill away. The next day the battery was dead!! I have 4 of the 20v batteries and they all do the same on all my tools. If I charge the batteries and leave them on my bench, they are OK but if put them in a tool and use it for any length of time I know it will be dead the next time I try to use it.Also the adapters are a bear to try to get them out of a tool. Looks like I will be going back to the 18V

I,ve had this for a while now and am glad I got it.It is a great idea to continue using your 18V tools with the new 20V lithium batteries. The batteries last longer and seem stronger.I saw many reviews that said it was hard to insert and remove the batteries and adapter and I agree, it was also for me at the start .I sprayed a little WD40 on the 2 conection points and it was still hard to squeeze them enough to slide it in and out.I took a pair of channel locks [BIG ONES] that I have and used them to squeeze the two points and that worked .After time it became easier to squeeze and I can now do it without much effort with just my fingers. All said and done I am so glad DeWALT came up with this system ,so many times I wanted to to get a tool and it wasn,t available in the 18V system so I wouldn,t get it ,now I can .Thanks DeWALT

I bought this about 8 months ago to replace some 18v batteries I have that wouldnt take a charge anymore. I like dewalt tools and I have many, and this one seemed like a great idea at the time, but a few issues I find is one. I can't wrap my fingers around the battery and the adapter to release it from the tool, so I have to first remove the battery from the adapter, then remove the adapter from the tool. Not real convenient when your in a hurry when you have multiple tools and only one adapter. Also, when I leave the adapter and the battery on a tool, it drains the battery within a day or two. I've tried this on several tools and they all drain it so I don't believe its a tool issue. Also, the battery doesn't last nearly as long when using it as my 18v batteries did when they were newer. In the end, I don't recommend this product and I should have bought replacment 18v batteries instead of buying this.

I bought the kit and it works great with my 18v Dewalt. The batteries have a energy gauge that tells you what you have left. The adapter works great and the small 20v batteries are pretty light and last a long time.
