Excellent Solution

I've had this product for a while, and it does the job. I started in the 18volt system but there are a lot of tools in 20volt that I love, so this helps me get more usage out of my batteries for

Battery Failure

The batteries included in the 20v Max Battery Adapter Kit For 18v Tools begin to fail after just a couple of weeks. First they will not fully charge, lighting only two of the three indicator lights. After a few months, even with two of the indicator lights lit, an 18v tool will run for just one minute. In addition, even when new, the battery will discharge in one day if left in the tool.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this as my 18 volt batteries are on the way out. Neither 20 volt batteries will hold a charge , followed all mfg. instructions. They last for maybe 10 minutes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Extend life of older DeWalt tools

I purchased the 18v-20v adapter about six months ago. Other reviewers have pointed out the adapter is difficult to remove. And, the lithium-ion batteries seem to discharge simply by being left in the adapter. My solution to the discharge issue is to remove the battery when finished using the tool. Despite those issues, the lithium-ion batteries deliver much better performance than the older NiCad batteries. I will be purchasing a second adapter so I have two for my tools.

ADAPTER HARD TO REMOVE, BATTERIES ARE JUNK

I got two of these packs for Christmas. I am a tall burly guy and I can barely pinch the buttons hard enough to remove the adapter from my drill/driver. (three minute removal time) I thought with two adapters that my needs would be solved because I just left them attached to my different tools. BUT.....
The batteries are junk. Out of the five that I got for Christmas and the two that my wife got with her new drill. I can only get one to take and hold a charge. The one working battery will charge in all three chargers, but the other 5 will not. I am very dissatisfied. I have almost exclusively purchased Dewalt tools, but I unless something can be done, I will be switching to another company, away from Dewalt /Stanley/ Black and Decker/ Porter Cable family.

Best combo kit ever

This is the second kit I`ve bought in 2 yrs. If your like a lot of Dewalt owners you have multiple 18 vlt. tools still running good and tired of switching adapters around coupled with the superior performance and light weight of lithium batts. I`m pleased with the kit I havn`t had any of the problems of leaving the batt in and coming back to a dead batt. like in some reviews , but on occasion the batt. would loose charge sitting a few days but nothing to cause concern . As far as the adapter being difficult to remove a gentle touch with a dremel is all it needed. works with all my tools except my circular saw , Oh well they still sell nicads . All in all still a great addition to the tool kit. I hope Dewalt never goes the way most companies have because they are proven jobsite tough . For 20 yrs I`ve bought strictly Dewalt because of the value and quality In their battery and electric tools

I had the same problem. The charge does not last and one won't charge at all at 3 months old.. The adapter is a bear to remove.
