Amazing!!!

This set is a challenge, but that it what made it so much fun to build. The attention to detail is unbelievable, and the best part, not one sticker!! Every brick is printed. When I was working this set I found myself wishing it was life size so I could have lived in it. Beautiful display piece from any angle. It is challenging to build, especially with the two shades of brown, but for me thats what made it fun. The challenge. TAKE YOUR TIME AND HAVE GOOD LIGHTING!! It will go a long way in helping you to make what I think is one of the most beautiful Lego sets ive ever built. Between this and all of the fair ground sets, these are probably the most detailed and fun sets Ive ever made. Kudos to the original creator and the Lego team for bringing this set to life!

Beautiful and for Display

There are a lot of YouTubers who have placed this in their cities. It doesn't scale anywhere, but it's stunning on its own. A display in an office or somewhere in need of some plants is great, but its very large and very deep. The dual leaves is fantastic, and a nice touch, but like Sesame Street and the Blacksmith, this is incredibly nice, but the original idea was mouthwatering. Each pod has a story and something cool going on, and I find myself wishing I could go into a life size version. Goals.

A treehouse worth it's weight in bricks.

It's been decades since I last touched LEGOS, and about as long since I've found myself in a shopping center or mall.
A few weeks ago I happened to be out of town and wandering through a Barnes and Noble when I saw this set perched on a shelf. It caught my eye immediately, and my love of the outdoors and peaceful solitude drew me in... I wanted to live in that treehouse, and I wanted to experience building a big LEGO set again after such a long time. But... I walked away because it was expensive.
A few days later, I found and ordered the set, and it showed up the day before I left for a short vacation.
I've been back from that vacation for a week now, and just as the anxiety, stress, etc. began to dig their claws in deeper, I was blessed with a chilly, rainy day off work.
I sat down this morning, opened the box, and for a whole day my worries vanished, my brain and hands were occupied and challenged without being stressed or anxious.
This was a beautifully crafted model, and something that I was so eager to build but so bittersweet to reach the end.

A fun set with a small annoyance

The set was great, the whole family loved it and we all worked on it together. We really liked the 'idea' of changing the foliage with the seasons, and the set overall is fun play experience.
The only issue we see is while the set provides the extra leaves, it does not provide the extra parts for the branches - i.e. you can't snap on/snapoff the branch sets like the Bonsai. If you want to change, you have to disassemble the entire branch sets and rebuild them. It's fun in it's own way, but it's just inconvenient enough that we've not bothered to change it like we planned. Small over sight, fixed in the Bonsai set.
If Lego sold the additional pieces as a set to make the extra set of branches, we'd buy it.

Great set!

this was an enjoyable set to build and play with. But, I had a bunch of missing pieces which really disappointed me because i was not able to fully finish the adults' bedroom. I did not have those types of pieces in my Lego bin so it is still sitting on my desk not completed.

I truly cannot fit all that I have to say about how gorgeous this set is, it is one of my favourites and I think it’s just so special and unproblematic. The 8 hours and $200 were absolutely worth it.

Gorgeous Set! Slightly frustrating build

What a looker! The diverse detailing of the trunk and cabin exteriors, off-grid organic feel of many elements, and truly three-dimensional display qualities of the model are real standouts. This build was a journey through different techniques and I found a lot of joy in discovering the clever ways similar elements were varied to provide texture and details.
My biggest complaint is that the instructions were less than clear, for several reasons -- no highlights calling out where the new pieces are placed besides some arrows, and a lot of difficulty determining piece colors between two shades of brown and tan/orange which didn't exactly match the bricks' color. It wasn't as smooth a building experience and led to several mistakes which I would only notice toward the end of a bag. Make sure to build under a good light source!
I also noticed some quality issues with the bricks -- stress lines on some plates, dots from what I imagine is the injection mold process, and a single piece that was super warped for which I've requested a replacement. YMMV.
I found the build experience varied, between the gradual layering of the landscape base, technical construction and geometric feats of the tree trunk and cabin roofs, and the seriously delightful and clever cabin interiors which was my favorite part of the build. The bathroom's various water features and plumbing in particular blew me away. There is a real care to make this set look amazing from any direction, from the landscape features up through the branch and leaf structure. Lots of elements that are open to customization!
As others have noted the final steps of adding the leaves bordered on repetitive, and swapping out colors requires quite a lot of changing out, so I recommend mixing colors from the start to provide a fuller "canopy". I chose to use almost all of the light and dark green leaves with a smattering of brown and yellow, to evoke the transition into autumn.
Definitely recommend this one more as a display piece than one for active playing, but a strong recommendation regardless!
