Great set

I built this with my 7 year old son. He was fascinated by it and determined to build it. I helped quite a bit and overall the build was good. There was one challenging step in connecting the first phase of the tree trunk to the base. I'm glad I did it after he went bed because there were some choice words involved in the process even though we had done everything correctly. Maybe there is a different order to putting it together that would make it easier.
After that was accomplished it was very sturdy and it was a lot of fun completing it. It's beautiful and we are already planning on adding our own trees and structures to make a tree house village. I have lots of cute animals from the Friends series to compliment the forest...and maybe a saber tooth tiger. He is so excited and we are both having a great time.

GREAT LEGO SET

As soon as I saw this lego set in the new catalog I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I just had to buy it. I'm usually not a lego ideas fan because the sets either are too small or they don't match the theme of my city, but this set fits in perfectly. The price is fair considering the amount of pieces it comes with. Detail is great and they have a few new pieces. The only problem I have is if it just came with more minifigures. Besides that it's a great set. I enjoyed every part of the build!!

Expansion Pack Needed

I loved this build and thought the detail in it was very cool but I couldn't give it a 5 rating because of how they planned for the "leaves". They give you all of the "leaves" to replace but you need to rebuild all of the branches in order to change out the "leaves" when you want to. I would have liked the extra brown pieces to build all of this out twice and then it can easily transition between seasons. I tried to pick a brick but not all of the bricks to do this are available.
This is otherwise a nice set but I think the branch building and not being able to build out both sets of branches for easily changing it out is a miss on Lego's part.
Maybe we will see an expansion pack in the future that allows builders to do this?

Great build

Very fun build and challenging. But directions were great and all parts were provided for the most part. I was missing one brown 2x4 but not a big deal I expect one or 2 pieces to be short in a 3000+ piece kit. We are all human and make mistakes. Otherwise like I said very fun build and very detailed.

Good product

The overall quality is good.
However, the No. 5 bag in my package is opened when I open the box. All the pieces are messed up in the box. Fortunately no missing pieces found yet.

Delightful and detailed!

This is a wonderful Swiss Family Robinson-type playground, with treasure maps, telescopes and microscopes, hat racks and soap holders—in short, tons of details, mundane and magical, that make this a hoot to build and to share with my kids. The tree structure is very clever, and each of the three small buildings are packed with furniture, accessories, and fun stuff. Especially like the picnic set-up!

Fun build

My son loved this set! It was a fairly easy build for him (he is 8....there was not a category to include his age group, so I just chose the youngest group) and he liked all the little details and accessories. He did not encounter any difficulties during his build.

First off, as a VIP member I couldn't wait to get my hand on this set. I am glad I purchased it. It is intricate and uniquely different in how the tree is built.
With that said, I am not sure the complaint on step 123, but there was no issue with a root or any build problem. So do not let this stop you.
I will say, the most challenging aspect of this build is the different color variations of the same common elements that sometimes can trip you up. My eyes not being as sharp as they used to be, sometime I would find I grabbed a dark brown element and instead needed a lighter brown (not tan). Se be mindful of that.
Lego should do a better job in the instruction manuals differentiating black, from dark grey, to dark blue. browns are the same way. But this is NOT a drawback, just forces you to stay on top of your building game with a set like this.
I applaud LEGO for making the tree elements from plant based plastic. Seems funny to me that the LEGO go Greener 2030 initiative start with plant tree elements for a Lego tree house.
