This was a Christmas gift to myself. Our huge tree in our front yard actually has a treehouse in it, so I thought this was pretty cool. I decided to sit down on a Saturday and build this while listening to music. 8 hours later I was done. It's an amazing set with lots of detail and is much bigger than I anticipated. My 10 yr old son is a huge LEGO fanatic and his love for LEGO has influenced me greatly over the years. This set was fairly easy to put together and I love the different rooms and that you can change out the leaves for Fall. It would be great to have some snow to add though. My only other suggestion would be to add in the yellow outlines in the instruction manual for where pieces go. Highly recommend this set to anyone- definitely one of our top 5!
This was a pretty challenging build for me, but I loved every minute of it. It is one of my favorite builds, and fits perfect in our wood cabin home. My wife loves it as well. I am 62 years old and have FINALLY have a treehouse (even though I can't climb into this one!).
I bought this set as a birthday present for my wife. She's rather new to Lego, so I was especially excited to give her a set I knew we would end up building together. It was our first set from the Lego Ideas series.
The build took us the better part of a day. Nothing was too complicated, but with a set as intricate as this one, it's best to take your time. It's quite satisfactory as the tree itself comes together. You end up with a very sturdy structure that manages to have an organic look to it. The rooms have some nice details; one wishes that you could book this treehouse on Airbnb.
Some favorite parts: the option to choose (plant-based!) summer or autumn foliage; the rope bridge; the stream.
I enjoyed the build a ton. It was fairly easy to understand. Though, at times challenging. It was very well detailed and quite a large build. I don't think this set would have been quite complete if it hadn't been for the choices between leaves.
I do highly suggest you take your time with this build. The overall color scheme of this set was well thought out. I think anyone who builds this set, no matter their age, would enjoy it!
I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for another large-scale build.
Having made it all the way to Bag 14, past the roofs and onward to the base of the branches, everything up until this step has run smoothly. The Tree can be fully picked up and moved about by the trunk. The roofs don't actually attach but can sit comfortably and don't move too much despite being articulated. The banisters are a bit of a weak link, and can come undone with little effort and or a meager bump in the wrong direction. They can be Re-affixed quickly enough however. Bag 14 has me a bit baffled. Whether its a misprinted clutch issue or not I cannot get past this step and will most likely spend a few hours hopefully trying to find a workable solution to get past this particular step.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hmmm...looks like there's something a bit off earlier in the build, there! Taking it apart and doing a little rebuilding should do the trick. If you need a hand troubleshooting the build, you can always get in touch at LEGO.build/Service.
The end result is spectacular. As an adult and Lego fanatic this brings out the kid in me. The imagination that went into this is amazing. I really appreciate the fact that you have to build the base and that it is not just a flat plate. With how happy I am with this build I did still have issues with a few pieces but will not stop me from giving a 5. Step 31, the brown 2x4 was missing. I just replaced it with one of my own but in replace of that missing piece was an odd piece that didnt even go to the build (pic attached). Then on step 226 and 244 it calls for 3 brown 1x12 and I received 3 brown 1x10. Once completed you cant even tell the difference.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thanks for your review! I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had some trouble with your LEGO® set. It’s unusual to have any incorrect pieces, so just in case, I’d recommend double-checking that no similar parts have been accidentally swapped. For any pieces you do end up needing, you can request replacements over at LEGO.build/BricksPieces.
Ok, how do I get my people from room to room. I can get to the main bedroom, I can get from the bathroom to the kids room. The design does not flow. I shall have to fix this
