bought this because it's pfas free, but the quality is significantly worse than the standard micom while being priced higher. the entire unit feels more cheaply made. it works as a rice cooker but i'm going to look into just getting a new bowl for my old one instead. really disappointed. if you ever need to cook under 2-3 cups it will dry out a good portion of it because of the flat bowl bottom, though it's probably fine for higher volumes.
if its your first zojirushi rice cooker you might not notice these things. it's solid as a rice cooker (it cooks rice) but lacking compared to cheaper zojirushi rice cookers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like this product, I will say rice sticks more to this than the other Teflon versions. But still pretty nonstick.
I'm glad it doesn't have any forever chemicals.
It works very well. I wish it had GABA function. Maybe a version with pressure cooking too.

No PFAS, but what's the pot made of, coated with?

It's a great rice cooker, like one would expect from Zojirushi. I purchased it because I wanted a rice cooker that didn't have a non-stick coating. This is marketed as PFAS free, but I do wish I was clearer on the pot's composition and coating, if anything. There is a finish on it, not completely non-stick, but some kind of treatment. That said, I am feeling better about using this rice cooker than our previous neuro-fuzzy, in which the nonstick coating had begun to flake and scratch.

For the NS‑TPC10/18 models, the inner cooking pan uses a PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)–based nonstick coating, which does not contain PTFE, PFOA, or other PFAS‑related substances, and is also BPA‑free.
