Major Disappointment

Looks great, but they certainly aren't built to last more than 3 years! Had problems with first set, and because their sizing does not conform to other makes and models we purchased another set, even though we only needed a fridge, that is, Whirlpool changed their model so they didn't match and was forced to purchase the freezer. Now only 3 years later, the compressor has died and with parts and labor doesn't make sense to fix. STAY AWAY!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old freezer was old and too small. This one is the perfect size. It is roomy, has lots of storage in the doors and is silent. I freeze a lot of vegetables when they are in season, and I can now fit everything.

Headache

My advice to potential customers is think hard before you buy this product. Both the freezer and refirgerator have been a maintenance headache. First the refrigerator timer failed. Next the freezer timer failed. Bought a spare timer. Freezer started frosting. Another maintenance call. Freezer was not freezing (20 F). More frost. Finally slow leak in closed cooling system. Can't be fixed. Dying a slow death (10 F). After just a few years of owning whenever I opened the freezer I prayed for it to be cold today. Since the refrigerator is working I didn't want unmatched appliances so I bought another freezer. This time I purchased the extended warranty. Delivery is quoted 4-5 months. I purchased a 3 cu ft. temporary freezer to get by. My neighbors are keeping my meat inventory.
If Whirlpool engineers are reading this, please work on improving the reliability of your product. It is truly awful. The interior design is great. Unfortunately, this doesn't matter when the freezer doesn't freeze.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
