Cold freeze

Power light lasted 5 months

I picked this model for a few reasons and one of them was to be able to tell that the power was on. Within 5 months I noticed that the power light was not working but thank goodness the freezer was. This is an LED light - hard to believe it went out so quickly. To get it fixed I am told I should hire someone to replace it. I am a bit disappointed and I counted on that light. I have to check it every day to make sure it's running. It also started frosting up on the inside a lot. I don't open it that much so I don't understand all the frost. I may just replace it. I have always liked frigidaire - always dependable but not this one. My last freezer lasted over 30 years. Sad they are not as good as before.

Still The One

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are very happy with it. The size works great for the two of us. It is running as expected. Very little frost has accumulated so far after a couple months of use. Very glad we finally bought this and chose the Frigidaire.

Fair Warning!

Within the first 2 weeks of use, the unit produced so much inside frost at back
left corner of the lid that the lid froze to the base. When we opened the lid, ice
chunks flew out all over my hardwood floors. Unacceptable. Called the Dealer.
They replaced unit. Same exact performance. Upon inquiry, Dealer learned
that Frigidaire does NOT do any service on their warranty for this model..just
replaces it; no parts are available from Frigidaire for this unit. Upon examination,
it was found that 2 small holes exist through the lid gaskets near back left
corner. When we covered the holes with masking tape, the air leakage stopped,
and the frost was controlled so the unit is now usable. However the outside of
lid is very cold to the touch while all 4 other outside surfaces of unit are room
temperature which implies poor insulation in the lid. Needless to say, the dealer
will not continue to sell or recommend this product to anyone. A sad state of
affairs from a grand old company who built them to last once upon a time...

Poor Quality

Had the freezer for approximately 3 months and it died. The light on the front was on, but all of our meat, pizzas, frozen vegetables, etc. were thawed out.

Problem with frost buildup around the top seal.

Frost build up still a problem even though the repair man said it was functioning properly. We rarely open freezer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
