INSANE QUALITY FOR THE PRICE BUT BUY SOME HARDWARE

I purchased this cockpit withing the last week and want to give an honest review after assembly and use.
Good: Super sturdy, good looking in general, light, and modular.
The cockpit is light enough to move around my room (which is great for my current setup) and sturdy and flat with no flex. The amount of mounting holes and slotted section allow a ton of adjustability and third party parts. The baseline setup without buying additional hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, and etc) is good enough to install an aftermarket seat and sliders as long as those included some hardware too (I went with racewill sliders and an NRG seat). I can already see how the adjustability and modularity would make this a solid budget option for even small children or someone very tall who may need all that extra length adjustment. Also the tools included was a nice touch.

Bad: Probably not the best setup for a motion rig. The instructions were borderline useless; thank god there was a video. Assembly still wasn't very hard, but some notes would be IF YOU ARE GOING TO FEED CABLES THROUGH THE FRAME DO IT BEFORE YOU BOLT EVERYTHING TOGETHER and the recommended setup shown in the video is ideal for a regular sized person. The only other major bad they I would speak on is the lack of included nuts/bolts/and washers needed to add things such as pedals or even the seat. I used all the washers the instructions told me too but when I got to the installation of the wheel base I needed two of the washers I no longer had. Same story for the pedals (which there were no instructions for at all) is that I had no specified hardware and had to just work with what I had. Lastly the rubber grommets that are to cover the open tubes, there was not enough to cap off all the open tubes... just gimme like 3 more of each...

Great cockpit, insane quality for the price, and I would recommend especially if you are tight on space and plan on moving it frequently.

Instructions are overly difficult to find.

The cockpit itself is sturdy and does the job, however the lack of mounting hardware for Fanatec’s own pedals and wheel bases is a miss that makes no sense any company wanting to encourage the purchase of their entire ecosystem should include all the mounting hardware for their own products. Locating instructions is like looking for some top secret information, they are not included with the product you have to try and locate them online where the Fanatec website is a frustrating mess of blogs and advertisements for their products without actually showing you the instructions. Once you finally locate the instructions which I found easier from a 3rd party website vs fanatecs useless ai chat, it is a series of pictures that’s makes ikea furniture look more well planned with random symbols that lack explanation. All together you get a decent cockpit that is frustrating to setup and adjust, followed by trips to a hardware store to obtain bolts and screws to mount a base and pedals, that should be in the packaging when you spend over 2 grand on a sim setup.

1st thing watch the video when building it , 2nd do not over tighten in the alloy tube so not to warp them , every thing needs a quarter turn, 3rd check the fanatec decals are in the right place when putting the tube assembly together in stage 1 of construction, 4th the left over bolts and washers are for the add ons so keep em safe 👍, 5th when putting the cables in the tubes be sure to add the usb cable in there too if you have your console or pc near to to the front of the rig, 6th get some long bolt for csl breaks so you can attach them to the pedal frame , they are not supplied , 7th playseats are compatible,8th theres are side mounting and bottom mounted option ,the side mount option does not require the chunky steel spacers and the attaching bolts are fixed with T-bolts in the lower rail on the base , not both rails are used unlike the mk1 rig version,, the straps are for mounting the power pack to the rig under the pedals assembly, now we got that out the way , this rig is rock solid and is a perfect geometry for racing , my advice get a slder rail for the seat ,makes adjustments for your 6ft 7 friend quick and non time consuming, i love this rig its a work of art and engineering because it absolutely utilises the materials strengths and leaves no weaknesses for a cost effective option but also leaves you in aw at its style , I truly think its a gorgeous design thats contemporary and sleek with a colour coordinated sceme , that yellow just sets it off 😉, take your time assembling it its a joy to see it come together, have a couple of tea breaks and enjoy the relaxing jazz music in the instructions video courtesy of fanatecs studios 🎙 😉, have fun and enjoy your new rig .

Solid base, mounting options for accessories, you need a seat though so check the dimensions and if you need an adapter plate. also consider buying rollers to put under the feet because the rig will be heavy.
