Wonderfully sharp, mid-size slicer!

Not too big/heavy, not too small. Slices tomato slices very thin, perfect for preparing boneless chicken breasts. Just the size for many vegetables and all sandwiches. We have three Shun knives now and they are the preferred choice.

Not what it used to be

Just bought a new utility knife this week. Have been using the same knife for the past ten years professionally and love it. It’s been worn down so I decided to buy a new one. Same blade and size. However it seems they have made the wooden handle smaller which makes it much more uncomfortable than the nice D handle they had when I first bought this knife. When it arrived I got it out of the box and it felt different, sure enough the handle was more slim and doesn’t fit my hand as well. Disappointed to say the least. I will be returning it and looking for another work horse that fits me well. If all the new shuns are this way I may have to replace my entire set when the time comes with something different. Currently own: All Shun: 12 inch chef knife, pairing knife, 2-10 inch chef knifes, and now 2- 6 inch utility knifes (my favorite of them all) but the new one will be sent back. Hope this isn’t the new course for Shun. That’s all I use. All the knifes are at least 8 years old that I have and I love them, just disappointed in this new purchase.

I love this knife. Very comfortable to hold and I’m using it every day. The blade is very sharp so makes cutting easy.

Customers have many choices and preferences on how they store their knives when not purchasing in a set containing a reusable gift box or block. As such, leaving the storage options to our customers also helps avoid unnecessary waste for those that do not want to sheath their knives.

Excellent utility knife

The utility knife by is a great complement to my premier chef knife. Super sharp, works great from trimming and separating bone.
