Roku has multiplied my enjoyment of watching television by offering a variety of channels. The choices of programs offers everything from news stations to drama to comedy in multiple ways. Movies, informational ads, short subjects and more. It is an amazing entertainment advancement for those who love watching television.
In search of trouble shooting, I found multiple posters with same issue; remote works when it wants. New batteries, set up after reboot etc. One customer rep response could not make sense of the English question asking for more detail from someone who precisely and concisely detailed the issue I have. This lead me to believe there is a known issue with remote control that is being swept under the rug. My phone app is my way of using the TV with my express 4k+ player. It's my solution to not buying another remote that apparently has issues since I don't believe in supporting the purchase of 1 year old obsolescence.
Buy a different player that doesn't require use of this remote. I have 3 different players and this one, judging from forums has issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Dave, we understand you are having trouble with your Roku remote. Sometimes, Roku remotes can lose connection with their devices for various reasons, such as power problems or Wi-Fi issues. Please ensure the batteries are correctly installed and that the path has no obstructions. Also, press and hold the pairing button at the back of your remote for 20 seconds. If your remote doesn't have a pairing button, press and hold the Back and Home buttons for 20 seconds. Then, restart your Roku device, replace or recharge the batteries, and try to re-pair your voice remote to your streaming device.
