Have to reset unit before every watch

I have to reset the unit before attempting to use it every single time I want to watch. The remote control eats batteries, I have only had my unit for a few months but I have had to change the batteries five (5) times already! Brand new, name brand batteries. The unit is always warm to the touch. Situation seems much worse since the recent OS upgrade.

Hi Katie, we appreciate your feedback and we're here to help. Please be aware that if you are using private listening, it will typically drain the battery on your remote faster than when not being used.
If you are not using private listening with your remote and are still experiencing issues with battery drain, we'd like to recommend an alternative power solution that may help. If the USB cable from your Roku player is currently connected to the USB port on your TV, we would request that you connect the USB cable directly to a wall outlet or power strip.
Additionally, please check for the latest update under your Settings menu as we believe that this has been resolved in our recent release.
This product loses internet connection after hours of use and the remote stops responding. Only solution is to unplug it and star over. After contacting the support and trying everything they suggested, I was sent a new unit but the new one also have the same issue. I have multiple Roku units which work fine on the same TV and network. When it is working, it is a good product but have to reset it multiple times a day.
Bought this in September to replace my old Roku Stick that was no longer compatible with several streaming sites. It worked great for 2 months and now I have to unplug it and plug it back in every time I want to watch TV. The blue light that indicates the device is working just turns off randomly and requires a reset to work. Reading several reviews this seems like a major bug with the device. Roku - will you replace these faulty devices?

The new, device turns itself off, will not restart with the remote, only buy disconnecting power, none of the online support advice helped, return over-complicated, website hard to follow.
One of the two Rokus I bought will turn on the tv but not the Roku itself unless I unplug and replug the unit in every time. I cannot find ANY customer support to help me trouble shoot - best I found was ask the community. The guidelines here instruct me not to discuss customer service, to "contact us instead." I would love to contact Roku but if there is a way, it is beyond my ability to figure it out. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Hi Jeanne, thanks for you feedback! Roku streaming players are low-power devices that are designed to remain on and always connected to the internet. There is no “power button” to press on or off.
This easy-to-use design prevents confusion by enabling instant access to your player any time you turn on your TV or switch from another source (e.g., cable box, Blu-ray player, gaming console).
A permanent connection also allows your Roku player to download new OS software and channel updates automatically without interrupting your use of the player. We hope this helps.
Got one of these Roku Express 4K+ just 5 months ago and today went to change out the older HDMI cable for a new one and the HDMI port inside broke clean off and I can hear it rattle around inside if I shake it..
I bought this a few weeks ago and at first it worked fine, but now has developed a problem of switching to Auto-detect resolution, no matter what you have selected, which cause my TV to turn off. Switched back to my old Roku, problem solved. Give us a software update to fix this please.
