I bought this to replace a regular 4k Roku that started stalling or flying wildly across a bunch of streaming channels, wouldn't go where directed. (?!) Unfortunately, this one has sound and picture problems. Either the sound cuts out in the middle of a lot of movies, or the picture suddenly cuts off to partial size-what?! At first I thought it was only happening on Vudu (where I have most of my 4k movies), but then I noticed the picture problem on Apple TV as well. It's all very erratic, but will have to return-and then what? ( I need Roku for Acorn TV, and my Samsung 4k TV won't connect to the Internet anymore (it's less than 4 years old.) Good grief. (I tried resetting my sound from auto to Dolby, and I upped my Wifi to the 5g source. Can't think what else to try.)

Hello, This is certainly not the kind of experience we would hope for you to have and this does not sound like typical behavior. Sometimes, performing a system restart on the player can resolve this. Other times, you might need to uninstall and reinstall the affected channels, check the status of your wireless connection, or contact the channel's service provider.
Our Support site has a robust FAQ article that may help, too. Learn more: https://support.roku.com/article/208755548. We hope this helps!
Almost returned this Express 4K+ it because I had to unplug and then replug power to get it to come on an older Sharp TV. I tested it on another TV and it worked fine. It's back on the Sharp and found that all I have to do is press the OK (enter) button and it comes right on. Also bought a Steaming Stick 4K and a Streaming Stick + for other TV's and they are great. Really like that Roku Channel.
I bought this on 12/30/2021 to connect to a tv 100 feet from main router. I have a net gear mesh extender to cover that area. It won’t connect even tho every other device connects including my Apple TV device which is 6 years old. I move it next to router and it works. What’s up roku. I have done searches and apparently your device will not work with Netgear. Piece of crap when I have no trouble with any other device connecting. Fix YOUR problem.
This is what works on my Express 4K to fix the HDCP error. I have an older non-smart Samsung TV that I plug into a surge protector along with other components (stereo receiver, DVD player, etc. I plug the roku into the wall outlet along with the surge protector. At night, I unplug the surge protector and the roku. This also helps cut down on phantom electricity use. When watching tv again, plug in the surge protector and watch tv only, then re-plug the roku back into the outlet when I want to use it again. If u want to take a break from using roku, unplug it from the outlet when watching tv only and re-plug roku when desired. Was about to return the roku until I discovered this system and it’s been working flawlessly for 3 straight months.
I bought a Roku Express 4K+ at the beginning of November. I have not been able to have my tv remote to recognize it unless I unplug and plug back in. After that it works perfectly. I have read articles and tried different things to no avail. I am a long-time Roku user for maybe 10 years (not sure). I had a version of the Roku Ultra, but wanted to upgrade to a voice remote. Instead I have downgraded. I never experienced anything like this in all my years with the ultra, and I see many other reviews mentioning the same thing.

This product is useless. I have to restart the system just to watch TV. I need to restart it when I start it. When I change to another show on the same channel, and when moving from channel to channel. It worked fine for one year.
I have to reset the unit before attempting to use it every single time I want to watch. The remote control eats batteries, I have only had my unit for a few months but I have had to change the batteries five (5) times already! Brand new, name brand batteries. The unit is always warm to the touch. Situation seems much worse since the recent OS upgrade.

Hi Katie, we appreciate your feedback and we're here to help. Please be aware that if you are using private listening, it will typically drain the battery on your remote faster than when not being used.
If you are not using private listening with your remote and are still experiencing issues with battery drain, we'd like to recommend an alternative power solution that may help. If the USB cable from your Roku player is currently connected to the USB port on your TV, we would request that you connect the USB cable directly to a wall outlet or power strip.
Additionally, please check for the latest update under your Settings menu as we believe that this has been resolved in our recent release.
This product loses internet connection after hours of use and the remote stops responding. Only solution is to unplug it and star over. After contacting the support and trying everything they suggested, I was sent a new unit but the new one also have the same issue. I have multiple Roku units which work fine on the same TV and network. When it is working, it is a good product but have to reset it multiple times a day.
