We were having trouble with the gaming console we previously used for streaming our movies and TV. At this price, I didn't think a Roku device could compare, but it's actually more user-friendly and we haven't noticed any decline in streaming quality. No complaints!
We got this because our tv is a bit dated and doesn’t sync with all streaming apps. The remote constantly has to be re-paired with the tv/receiver (typically every couple weeks). This started happening a few weeks after we got it. If you don’t re-pair it the remote starts to get glitchy and eventually stops controlling the tv. Or the batteries will drain because the remote is constantly searching for the tv. Re-pairing is a bit of a process where you unplug things in a certain order and take out the batteries. It’s not ideal when you just want to watch tv or when it happens when guests are staying over and are unable to use our tv.

Man this thing is great it closes up the TV so much better than cable it's unbelievable the sound is even more impressive I mean it's clear as long as you get strong internet and it works fine some of the apps are a little expensive but what can you say it's still cheaper than cable
I bought a Roku device to allow my older Samsung TV to hookup to a new cable service. I found that the Roku controller had very few features. It didn't even have numerical buttons. I soon replaced it with a Xumo box that had better compatibility with my Samsung and the cable provider (Spectrum).

I have purchased 3 Roku products. I'm happy with the other two but this one doesn't control the TV volume, mute, or power-on buttons. The others do. Maybe I didn't set it up right? No issue with the other two though in set up.

Hello, Robert. We appreciate you choosing our products and sharing your thoughts with us. Please be advised that some devices come equipped with a Simple Remote. These lack TV controls (Power and Volume), so you must use your TV remote to control these functions. The current line of new Roku devices is limited to the HD Roku Express. In addition, in Roku model releases, the non-plus(+) models are generally equipped with a simple remote. However, if you wish to have functional access to your TV's power and volume buttons using the Roku remote, we recommend the Roku Voice remote. You can refer to this link to compare the remote features at https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/compare. If you have any future inquiries or need assistance, please get in touch with us through our website at https://support.roku.com/contactus.
Roku service is good but glitchy, freezing from time to time. The remote and the unit have to be reset. Roku would benefit from additional channels such as Tennis channel.

Bought this unit initially to see if my internet speed (~90 Mbps) could support streaming TV. Streams just fine without any issues or buffering. Was pleasantly surprised by the amount of channels available with the Roku live TV, as well as with other apps. Keeps me logged in to my Pluto app, which is nice. Can easily add other apps allowing for an even greater variety of programs available. I must say the Roku microphone search function works very well, also it is nice to be able to log into your YouTube account and view your YouTube playlists easily on your television.
