Great Dive Computer
on October 20, 2023

I used it for my first two salt water dives today and it performed flawlessly. It automatically went into dive mode at 4 feet like it’s supposed to and warned me when it was supposed to. It automatically switches on your safety stop and counts down for. Very happy with the watch and the Garmin dive app.

Great, Fully Capable Dive Watch
on September 18, 2023

PROS: This is a great dive watch, particularly for people who like analytics and a fitness/activity watch included. As far as diving capability, I really enjoy the wide selection of dive faces and the compass, which couldn't be easier to use. The screen's backlighting is plenty bright for diving in any conditions and I love that the dive log uploads automatically to my phone. Diving 2+ times a day, the battery will last about 20 days and takes max 30 minutes to charge fully. The buttons have never frozen or gotten and it has never died on me unlike many of my previous computers.
CONS: This isn't the best option for simplicity. It's built to be capable of a lot so it takes a minute to get used to all the buttons and screens, especially if you are used to an entry-level computer. You can delete most of the activity features but there will still be a lot going on. The dive watch faces are really capable but also kind of busy and annoying in my opinion. For my purposes teaching rec diving, I prefer to just have dive time, deco time, and depth but the most simple face I can find includes air type and temp as well. It's a really small gripe but it kind of clogs up the watch face which is already on the smaller side. Overall, it's a great dive computer and I'm really happy with it.

Amazing watch

Perfect combination between a dive computer and a smart watch. Wasn’t planning to wear my dive computer everywhere but G1 does so much that I end up using it for my daily exercises as well. One of the best feature is that G1 can last longer than most dive computer or smart watch. If I were to pick a disadvantage of G1, it would be the small watch surface. However, big number mode makes it easier to read and access essential data during dive. G1 is perfect for those seeking a smart watch for frequent active use and a dive computer for 3-7 day liveaboard trips.

Great watch for what I do
on March 21, 2023

I've had this watch for about a year, and so far I've really liked it. Lots of backcountry skiing, biking, hiking, more than 20 dives, and daily use, and it has been great. I found the watch to be very readable even at depth, and the frame and face have been very durable. This wrist-based heart rate and pulse ox aren't super accurate, but that's the tradeoff of being wrist based.

Exactly what I was looking for in a multi-purpose watch.

I was looking for a dive computer that doubles as an everyday smart watch. It has just enough dive specific functions for the recreational travel diving that I do. The day to day tracking features have been really helpful as well.
I would consider my dive experience to be more on the beginner/intermediate side. If I was doing more advanced tech diving I would get a specific dive computer with air integration.
