I had to replace my old mini, and there is only one coffee drinker in the household, so this was the right fit. I was surprised to find that it will not operate with only 6 ounces of water, which is how much coffee is in one pod (actually slightly less), so it does require a minimum of 7-1/2 ounces of water for each cup of coffee. I still appreciate the convenience, but I would not recommend the mini for serious die-hard coffee drinkers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
