After two weeks of continuous use, I can confidently say that I can't imagine going without these headphones. They've seamlessly integrated into my daily routine, competing in usage frequency with my trusted QC45. They've unveiled a niche I didn't realize I was missing.
Key Highlights: • Sound Quality: 5/5 • Ergonomics: 5/5 • Battery Life: 5/5 FYI: • No noise cancelling: These are OPEN BACK headphones, intentionally designed for ambient sound awareness. • Potential discomfort for upper lobe piercings. Pros: • Unmatched Comfort: Having previously experienced discomfort and pain with AirPods and other in-ear options after just 20-30 minutes of use, the Ultra Open design is a revelation. Unlike traditional in-ear options, these earbuds feel more like comfortable cuffs than intrusive buds. I can wear them for hours without discomfort. • Superb Sound: Among my collection of headphones, few rival the audio quality of these open-back earbuds. • Impressive Battery Life: Even with 4-5 hours of daily use over two weeks, I've only had to charge the case once, never interrupting my usage. • Secure Fit: Whether bouldering or running, these earbuds stay firmly in place, providing peace of mind during physical activities. Cons: • Occasional Sound Interruptions: Despite the immersive audio experience, there are sporadic cutouts, although the development team is actively addressing this. • Confusing Case Design: The case layout can be perplexing when storing the earbuds. • Initial Confusion with Earbud Orientation: It may take some trial and error to determine the correct way to wear the earbuds initially. • Challenges in Noisy Environments: In extremely loud environments, hearing music can be difficult, though the auto volume feature helps mitigate this issue.
Excellent concept turned into a excellent product.

Had the product for a few weeks now , So far its a giant leap forward in comfort especially for longer term use in the day , I also find them more secure then a normal earbud while doing physical activity . The sound quality actually surprised me , I was concerned that with ought it being in the ear canal it would be lacking but there was no loss in quality at all. The battery life is excellent and they charge quickly in the case for extra time . I also like that they use a physical button for pause ,play , etc. I have always found the tap feature can become uncomfortable tapping on things in my ear canal . overall these have been fantastic and would recomend them to anyone who uses music on the go frequently .
So far really please with this product. They are earbuds you didn’t know you needed. Previously I would use QC noise cancelling earbuds at the office and gym. Now these are the go to ones to use. All day comfort and never needing adjusting. Once you find the fitment place on the ear for you forget they are there. No more pausing and or removing an earbud to clearly hear someone, or missing something someone said. The buttons are easy to use and give you positive feel of pressing a button versus just touching an object (earbud). Once weather is warmer I really feel these will be the earbuds to use while cycling as it will allow me to hear my surroundings while enjoying the music at the same time. Sound is typical Bose quality deep rich music - good bass and clear. The big difference the the staying in place and all day comfort they provide.
I fell in love with the Open Earbuds on day one. They immediately solved two of my complaints with other earbuds: 1) Comfortability for long periods. I don’t find most earbuds comfortable for hours of wear but I forget that I have on. Comfortable but secure. I have done hot yoga and spin classes with absolutely no problems, adjusting, or discomfort. 2) Block out other noise I need/want to hear. I can be listening to music at the office and still hear when someone calls my name or walking my dog yet hear a car approaching from behind. No longer do you have to do the one earbud thing so you can have one ear open.
These two issues are solved without compromising the sound quality.
Now, these are not for everyone or every application. You want to mow your lawn while listening to a podcast – these are not for you. You want to cancel the sound of your annoying coworker slurping their hot coffee – not the best for that either unless you turn up the volume on your music. But if you want to have a comfortable, quality sound while still being able to hear the instructor at your workout class – this is what you have been waiting for!
I have been wearing my Ultra Open EarBuds for a few weeks now and I love them. Sound quality is what I expect from Bose products and it did not disappoint. The earbuds are so light in the ears. I forget I have them on at times. They are very attractive and I have received many compliments. I have the white pair. It took a few wears to get used to putting them on since I have long curly hair but well worth it when I got the hang of it.
After little less than 2 weeks of use. I think overall unique design, call quality could use some improvement while talking to others -having them being able to hear you on the other end. Music quality is good would like to see more improvement of options to improve sounds with louder volume and more bass. These headphones are good for any occasion from a casual walk to the store, working out or lounging out at the house.

Overall, I’m really impressed with my new Bose earphones. Not only do they look sleek and stylish, but the sound quality is also fantastic. What I love most is their ability to let me listen to my surroundings while enjoying my music, which is perfect for running. They stay securely in place and never feel like they’ll fall out. My only minor gripe is the lack of wireless charging, but it’s a small trade-off for such a great product.

They just are. You may balk at the lack of noise-canceling or the fact that they just “hang” on your ears…
I’m here to tell you— these are amazing. A bit about me. I have tiny ears. I’m a petite woman. Even the smallest AirPods do not fit and give me a massive earache. To add “injury to insult” (yes, that was intentionally backward)… I have piercings. I have inner ear piercings on both sides. This doesn’t exactly set me up for success for earbuds. I had given up on that very idea. I have Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. But they’re not ideal for every situation.
Enter these magical devices that Bose made just for me. They did, right?
I’m a woman. And I'm a mom. These are two roles that typically don’t lend to many noise-cancelling opportunities. If I’m in the other room folding laundry? I WANT to hear if little Jimmy fell off the top bunk for the 3rd time today. What if he broke his arm that time? If I’m jogging the trails? I WANT to hear if a creepy guy is starting to encroach on my space and breathing heavier. Ew.
These are not perfect. I’m not in sales, and I’m not about to sell you on these. There is a learning curve to putting them “on.” Especially if you have piercings, like I do. On my tragus side, there is no issue. I’m still working with my daith— the jury is out. Positioning is tricky to get comfortable on that side. From what I can tell, you cannot wear these with dangly lobe earrings or anything of that nature. But—the beautiful part is that the earbud is not exactly static. These have a ton of flexibility to them. When you get it right, it legitimately feels like you have nothing on your ear. Almost weightless.
Do you have a hearing aid? This is your earbud. I’m really happy you finally have a quality product accessible to you.
They hold a charge for a long time— I haven’t even been able to drain them to tell you just how long. While on the subject of charging, I will tell you that I am both surprised and disappointed that the charger is not wireless. Especially when my husband’s older Bose earbuds are. Dunno what happened there. It’s a small drawback, and I got over it…
The sound quality is what you would expect from Bose…it’s excellent. The immersion mode is cool and something I enjoyed more than I thought I would. The app is great (I already had it from my Comfort Headphones, and it picked up the Ultra Open Earbuds with no problem). Phone calls? Answering calls is not intuitive to me, but that’s a non-Apple curve I’m willing to learn. Zoom calls? All good. No issues thus far.
That’s it for now! If I could rate it a 4.5, I would. Since there's no in-between I rounded up because I love them. See pictures for fit with my jewelry to give you an idea of what it might look like with yours. Cheers!
