I don’t typically write reviews but after years of travel and searching for my perfect “one bag” travel bags I finally found if in the Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack. Six month and approximately 13 trips ranging from cold to warm weather, business, and adventure trips this bag literally carries it all. This bag is durable, looks amazing, and has just the right amount of capacity and organization to accommodate all kinds of users. I enjoyed this bag so much I purchased the entire travel line and now understand why people rave about Peak Design products so much. Looking forward to many more adventures with this bag.
Bought it for my brother's birthday so didn't have the opportunity to try it, but he was very pleased with the quality at first sight and he's not impressed easily. I have no doubt this backpack will suit his needs. Plus received it well in time, everything was great. I recommand +++
I got 3 different bags and kept this one. After 2.5 weeks in Turkey and Greece hostels, I'm still satisfied. It beat out Minaal and AER's offeings.
Now... things I'd like to see added that'd make it perfect (yeah yeah... subjective) instead of only excellent. 1. Two compression straps. These can be put on the sides so they're not on the organization flap. 2. Velcro cargo netting/mesh. The sides could be the fuzzy part and the cargo net/mesh parts having the hooks. (basically, I'd rather pay for those than the compression bags. I can roll up the small amount of clothing to be pretty much flat against the inside of the bag, compressed with the straps, and netted in with the velcro mesh. Then I have tons of room. I could even use some velcro straps to strap stuff to the sides inside, like my Sonicare holder that's too big for all the toiletry kits. 3. Zippers in the 2 side small organization pouches beside the pen holder types. 4. Two more of those same pouches somewhere in there. 5. Stronger snaps for the 2 snaps reducing it to 30 liters. 6. The lashing points could be maybe made of a stronger material that doesn't fray (only one barely frayed after heavy use).
I’ve bought just about every product from the travel line and the backpack is the last piece (other than the duffel) for my travel ecosystem. The bag is well worth the price and the quality is out of this world
Lots of cool features however it forgot to be a comfortable backpack. I really wanted to like it more than I did, but I couldn't get the straps to feel good even with a light load let alone a heavy load. Also this might just be me but if found the usage of hooks for the sternum strap and hip belt much less convenient than a standard buckle system.
On the good side the rain fly, security features, compression zips, stowable straps we're all very nice!
