The Travel Backback was my first Peak Design product I funded on kickstarter. Since then it has been my travel & everyday companion. Super happy with everything it provides. I even got a replacement when my first backpack had a zipper malfunction.
I love the everyday backpack. Even the messenger, the slings, pouches and cubes. They are great not just because of durability, tech and beauty, but they can hold all my stuff in dedicated compartments. Even the new tripod stand has a dedicated spot for the Allen wrench tool. So the 45l travel bag I purchased not just because of travel (since it will hold a lot of clothes and gear) but because I’m a big guy and the everyday backpack looks a little small on me. However, when I try to store all my little Knick knacks and use the travel as a backpack I miss the compartments. A small Tupperware for lunch just wobbles around in there unless I fill up the bag or get more cubes. Again if I want to bring just a mirror less I don’t have convenient dividers to secure it from jostling around. I don’t even have a cool hidden compartment to hide my wallet and toothpick holder.
Granted, it’s a travel backpack. So I understand it isn’t an everyday backpack. But if there was a way to add dividers it would be perfect!
Or make a 45l everyday backpack!!! I love the mag latch and miss it when I use the travel backpack. (Or I guess I could lose weight).
Got this bag for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised that both my big canon lenses and two camera bodies fit inside it! Canon 800mm and Canon 200 to 400 with 1x4 built in lenses are big and heavy!
I bought this travel backpack a month or I had it overseas and it was perfect on both the airplane and at my destination. There are multiple storage compartments and so many access panels allowing access from different directions. You never need to dig through your items to get to the item you’re looking for. It was amazing how much I could fit in here and still get the backpack under the seat in front of me during takeoff and landing.
Ordered it during Thanks Giving. Today first time used it for my trip back to home town. Can hold all my belongings for my 21 days hotel quarantine with 2 laptops as well.
The only down side is the strips may not too easy to hide when the backpack is fully loaded.
I took this on my first long duration trip. It's super sturdy and comfortable to wear. The carefully designed compartments have easy access. The cost may seem high but considering this will be my backpack forever, it's very reasonable.
