My favorite feature of this backpack are the magnet flaps on the back that can stow away the straps very easily and quickly. This is the best looking backpack I've ever had, I can't stop looking at it. I got it in Sage color. I don't really care much for the side zipper access but I can see why photographers would find that handy. I use compression pack cubes to pack a ton of clothes into this bag. You can either use Peak Design packing cubes or find some third party compression cubes that are 14x10. Overall I'm really happy with this travel backpack. You can tell Peak Design put a lot of thoughts into it. I ended up getting the Peak Design medium packing cube and rain fly to go along with this backpack.
This is exactly what I was looking for. A sturdy, functional backpack that is also understated and elegant. Perfect for city business settings and for outdoor adventures. All the features are just as advertised. A bit pricey, and I wish the accessories like the cubes and the toiletry case had a lower price range, but I’m pretty confident the quality is top-notch and hopefully long-lasting.
I recently bought it and it's been love at first sight ever since. It holds all my goodies for my travels, and believe me, I do travel A LOT! at least twice a month.
Purchased this recently for my trip to Europe and really appreciate the quality as well as care into the all the details with this product. Really enjoy the main compartment's easy access (almost like a carry-on luggage) as well as the access from multiple positions. Can't wait to use this on my trip and I keep on being incredibly impressed with Peak Design's products.
I have used my pack as my carryon for 22 domestic and international flights in 2021. It rides snug and tight on top of my quad roller carryon no matter how fast I have to move to catch planes. The compartments are perfect for packing my stuff, while keeping things separate for convenience. Occasionally I use the shoulder straps and found them to be functional and comfortable, not the flimsy after thought straps found on some packs. I lost the sternum strap somewhere between Turkey and Germany. It was easy to replace. I think this pack will see me through at least a decade of work travel. More than my money’s worth.
I have a thing for searching for the best backpacks, duffels, etc. The Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L hits about every mark. Peak's quality is always excellent, this backpack is no exception. Everything works smoothly as the way it is supposed to work. The looks are those of a premium piece of luggage while still looking rugged and functional. I own a few PD pieces and, without exception, I'd recommend PD to anyone.
