While the product is described as a travel backpack I’ve found it’s design to perfectly allow my to travel around London with everything I’d ever need for my freelance work. It’s adaptable size makes it perfect for fitting those few extra pieces you just wouldn’t be able to fit in a normal back pack and the waterproof material keeps me certain that none of my valuables will get damaged, beautiful backpack, super happy
I love this bag for just fun travel, especially when using packing cubes I have all the room I need on the inside for a weeks worth of clothes and my "light" travel items, but the one thing that irks me is that if I try and use this for everyday travel and I button it up to make it smaller, the buttons always snap loose. Also it is kind of awkward to stick my hand into the main opening when using for everyday carry. But for travel, this backpack rocks, and I will probably ask my gf for the 30L travel backpack for Christmas for my everyday carry over the everyday pack V2. I currently have the V1 everyday pack but I would prefer the travel backpack over it for everyday carry even with it's quirks.
I love this backpack, especially having the middle pouches be accessible both from the main compartment as well as the secondary compartment is great. The VelCro-Strap to secure the laptop came in clutch a few times, because I had to lay out equipment on a table quickly and was comfortable with letting the laptop-compartment hang down from the table. I like the color (sage), it just started collecting some white marks which is a bit odd. They aren't very obvious though. A small gripe I have is that the front buckle to secure the bag in front of your chest is not very secure, and I've had it happen on several occasions that I actually lost it when retrieving the bag from a bag compartment. It would be great if you could lock that connecting strap more securely to the bag on one of the two main straps (don't know the specific words). Also, a magnetic solution like on the db Ramverck would be much appreciated in a future version.
Overall very happy with the backpack. I like traveling light and previously used a smaller backpack as my sole luggage on numerous month long trips. This bag delivers in durability, organization, space and convenience... Which it needs to for the price. I'm hoping this will last me at least a decade so it's a worthwhile investment.
This is a feature rich pack with great materials. PD has thought of everything and this cleverly designed pack is great for photography, travel, and even EDC.
Peak Design has created a fantastic bag, loaded with features. I really love the products that they produce and recommend them to everyone. Everything is high quality, well thought out down to every detail and their commitment to the environment is just icing on the cake.
Bought this as a replacement workbag (it stuff) and as a carry-on vacation bag. Extremely happy with the ways you can open and organise everyrhing! Well though-out and good built quality.
I use the Travel Backpack 45 as Weekender and short term travel backpack. It is super durable and comftiy to wear. It survived a robbery attempt, where they tried to cut through it, but without a chance and only a little scratch was left. Additionally the peak design support/warranty is fabulous - never experienced a similar service before. Love it.
