Got this for my birthday and love it. From the compartments to the ability to change its dimensions to fit my immediate needs regardless of the situation. It is a bit bulky but that’s what I was looking for.
Got this bag to use with a carry on for a couple of trips. I used if for a month in Mexico and Belize and again in Europe where we did 7 countries in 19 days this bag was amazing. Once you developed habits about where you put stuff it made travel feel so much less stressful and as I moved through airports and customs people commented on how easy I made it look. My favorite things were how easily you could go from wearing it to taking one shoulder off, rotating it around, pull out what you need and slip it right back on, ready to roll. The stash pockets for the shoulder and waist straps were super useful and I like how tidy it made the bag. It was comfortable to wear, even packed to the brim with snorkel fins, mask and snorkel! It's well designed and I am so happy with this travel gem!
I have not yet begun my travels where this backpack will truly be put to the test, however, I love everything about this bag! I have walked around my apartment with it in anticipation of my upcoming travels and I’ve never been more excited. Worth every penny! The camera cubes are equally as cool as the bag. I’m having a blast organizing/re-organizing the bag to optimize my setup. Easy enough to use and the design/functionality of all the velcro dividers are awesome! 1 piece of critical feedback…the plain cardboard box it was shipped in was poorly taped and practically destroyed by UPS. The corners were open to the elements, and the top was taped perpendicular 3x as the original tape was not stuck to the box. Fortunately the items were in plastic wrapping otherwise I may have had to return the item as damaged. For how much this backpack costs, it should arrive in a crispy clean box. It doesn’t have to be like opening a new phone or tech accessory, but it should be a similar experience. Packaging adds to the customer experience! Also I was expecting the rain fly to be included, maybe it was my miss but can’t hurt to make it more clear that it’s not included.
I got this bag for a few trips about 4/5 days long. Also used with the packing cubes, wash pouch, and tech pouch. This bag can hold it all. Extra space depending on how much I was bringing. Had room for spare shoes. Plenty of pockets for all your edc too. Would highly recommend this bag. Got the sage color
I bought this backpack a month ago in an attempt to streamline my travel packing. I already owned the shoe and clothes packing cubes as well as two of the camera cubes so it just seemed natural to finally get a bag they actually work with. Solid all the way around. On it's maiden voyage (US to Canada) the airline asked if they could gate check it. I figured what could be a better test than to let baggage handlers have at it (thankfully I didn't have any camera equipment in it). Aside from a bit of dirt it is no worse for wear. Looking forward to more trips and way to test the bag out.
I’ve been traveling with this pack all over the world for the last several years and have really enjoyed its thoughtful functionality, durability, and style. What’s more, Peak Design stands by their products 100%. Had one of the mounting loops snap off one time, brought the pack to their store, they replaced it in minutes, no questions asked. A friend of mine I was traveling with loved my pack so much she got herself one too! Keep up the great work, Peak Design!
While the main compartment impresses with its high quality, I do have a minor suggestion regarding the thickness and comfort of the backpack straps. A slightly thicker padding or more ergonomic design in the shoulder straps would greatly enhance the overall comfort and alleviate this issue.
