Took the bag on a weekend trip to Seattle. Worked well as a carryon and was able to compress it to a day pack to hike around Olympia National Park. Straps were comfortable, and the side access was very handy to access things like snacks or a rain jacket. The water bottle pockets can fit a Nalgene no problem. Love that it stands up on its own. Looking forward to using it for many more trips.
I researched heavily before finding and buying this bag, but nothing compared to the experience of it in real life! The quality and exceptional use cases of this bag make a compete one stop shop for me when it comes to a travel bag.
I bought this backpack after reading A LOT of luggage/travel backpack reviews. I wanted a carry-on backpack that maximizes utility and the incredible details of this pack make it a winner. Not even sure where to start but what I can definitely recommend is watching the Peak Design YouTube videos on optimizing your usage of the bag. My favorite details so far are the security features with the zippers, the external strapping tools, and the multi-point access to the main area. The side access was especially helpful when accessing interior items while in the airport. I will also add the pack's adjustability makes it very comfortable to wear.
Traveling to very remote areas of the world on public transport, I’m always looking out for the best luggage. At the moment I’m in Italy and so far very pleased with my 45L—the “two” compartment approach is very useful in organization. As always, I’ve overpacked so the backpack is heavy but so far this does not appear to present a problem. All in all, a very competent addition to robust luggage.
