Bought this bag to serve as multiple travel uses … and fits all of them extremely well. Travel carry-on (can fit 1 x medium packing cube alongside 2 x small packing cubes alongside lots of other small paraphernalia tucked in and around) with lots compartments for documents and items that need to be ‘on hand’ at airport. Love the good-sized and handy bottle storage in both sides, that could easily reach without taking bag off back too. And REALLY love that can unzip and access and see all gear in one go! Rather than having to rummage around blindly from one top or side opening zipper (this is what sold it for me and it didn’t disappoint!) Love the wipe clean fabric which feels super durable and also that the pack felt both secure and non-sweaty on my back. I alos like that it’s a hybrid of not-too-sporty/not too business looking - therefore can adapt if required to both. Have owned several backpacks including Dueter and Fjllraven and this is my best yet. Winner Winner 🥇
I recently purchased the Peak Design Travel Backpack 30L, and it has exceeded all my expectations. This backpack is perfect for short trips and daily use, thanks to its expandable capacity from 27L to 33L. The weatherproof 100% recycled nylon canvas ensures durability and protection for my belongings. I love the large rear hatch that makes accessing my items effortless. The padded laptop and tablet sleeves offer excellent protection, and the expandable side pockets are incredibly convenient. The tuck-away shoulder straps are a thoughtful touch, making it versatile for different carrying styles. Plus, the compatibility with Peak Design Packing and Camera Cubes is a game-changer for organizing my gear. Knowing it's Fair Trade Certified and 100% carbon neutral makes me feel good about my purchase. This backpack comes with a lifetime guarantee, solidifying it as the best backpack I've ever owned. Highly recommended!
I purchased this bag to use for baseball (I coach my son’s little league team) since my everyday backpack v1 didn’t have the completely open space I needed. The 30L is a good size and fits my clipboard, scorebook and glove. And gum, eye black and other stuff for game day.
My only disappointment is the side pockets are smaller than on my everyday backpack so they don’t hold my 40oz water bottle. They do fit a baseball bat though.
After used Everyday Backpack (which is very tight and compact), purchased the Travel Backpack 30L for this lightweight.
1) It does not have dividers (like Everyday Backpack) but uses packing cubes which Peak Design does not provide any crossing bands to fix them inside the bag.
2) Another issue, like other customers rating, the 30 L does not have side access as 45L - which, in my opinion, should have been an easy feature with an extra zipper.
3) All Peak Design backpacks need extra shoulder pad for more comfortable use.
After a lot of research I went with this bag. It functions perfectly as a personal item or your carry-on. It fits under the sit of a plane, though extends out a bit bc of the length. It has excellent functionality in terms of pockets and so great capacity. I bought the packing cubes as well and they fit perfectly.
Great product overall so far, but I'd caution people that it is NOT rain/weather proof. I bike in the rain a lot so tested it in the shower and there was water intrusion into both the quick access pocket and the main compartment. If you're wanting just protection from short sprinkles of rain you should be good though.
