To start with the good, I really like the looks, the way you need to get into the bag and the possibilities you have with the strap system. That said, I find it to be a bit too small, I have to shove my computer in with some difficulties. Also I believe a small pocket somewhere would have been a nice thing to add.
I’m someone who has been trying to find the next best backpack for what I need and the outdoor pack is just that. I use this pack on business trips, personal trips, and commuting to work. I workout in the morning when I commute into the office and can pack this thing with my laptop, charger + other tech and my workout clothes w/ shoes. It is maxed out at that point but I no longer carry a gym duffel bag!
Overall, it’s very much grown on me and the versatility and quality are fantastic.
The good: - love the ability to configure the pack with straps - the pull cord isn’t annoying, I actually use the exterior pocket a lot to hold onto my jacket, it’s very quick to get things in and out - the exterior zip pockets are great for little things like chapstick, travel towel, AirTag, etc - love the stretchy mesh bottle holders on both sides. I can really stuff this pack when I travel and put things in those pockets for easy access. Also fits every water bottle I have and also a tripod! - love the clam shell design, very easy to pack this thing in the morning - the stretchy pockets on the shoulder straps are lovely. Dedicated place for securing a capture clip is a nice touch!
Could be better: - the hook and loop system is good for things you don’t need to access all the time, but gets annoying when you are constantly doing and undoing them. I use one cord for a chest strap and the other to secure against my carryon handle. Having to hook and unhook when going through the tsa / airport / airplane can be tricky. Especially when the bag is full for the carryon handle. I ended up buying a magnetic buckle(falcam magnetic mini buckle) and making my own straps to make it much easier. Having the loop system does make customization possible which is great. - the magnetic roll top is alright. I wish it were a bit more secure when I really have the bag maxed out (zipper? Idk) - I’m not sure how to secure these extra mini packing bags, they kind of just float around. I use them as tech pouches which is wrong… they are meant for clothing - I wish there was an extra pocket for an ipad. My iPad fots just fine with a 16” MBP. I do have trouble putting my laptop back into the bag if the iPad is already in there. I end up taking the iPad out, putting in the laptop, then putting the iPad back in.
Love the design, color and functionality. Existing design in the market is just so boring. I like to stuff my martial art uniform & shoes all in one bag, so works very well for me. Love the extendable netting pouch on the sides and on the straps for my phone! My phone is so accessible now when I am walking or cycling.
I am a returning, happy customer for this bag. I already had a bigger photo bag and a smaller daypack; however, this bag is an awesome travel extension. The belly strap makes carrying heavy gear easier, and the back access makes it a great weekend travel bag. If you’re looking for something that works great on foot, this is your bag!
Excellent personal item on an airplane. Recently did some work travel and it really did everything that I needed it to. Compact, very secure, easy to carry, and plenty of room for staying organized. Fortunately for me, the weather was great and I didn’t get to test the water resistance of the bag. Things that I hope to see cleaned up in a future version: -The cord securing the front of the bag, when pulled tightly, gets stuck on something internally and it becomes difficult to open the front of the bag. I get it open by wiggling it around pretty aggressively, but that’s not ideal for a quick access area. -Maybe add a small internal pocket in the main part of the bag for small items to be stored away from larger items. Something only large enough for basic EDC pocket items. Pens, chapstick, charger, cash, etc.
Overall, great bag. I’m very excited to test it on a much longer trip next month. Will update my review afterwards.
Everything is great about this backpack except for the material choice of the front facing part, it is easily scratched during the lightest of outdoor hikes.
I bought this as part of the Kick starter release to be a compliment to my existing backpacks. Instead, I am now using this pack for daily use as part of my work commute as well as our bushwalking. I love all the small pockets etc which mean I can store my keys, phone, train ticket, glasses, water etc all within easy reach. I use the front compartment for by bike helmet and/or hat. The main compartment is adequate for all the other stuff I catty including laptop and iPad. Super comfortable to wear. Best back pack I've bought
