We grind coffee beans and use a French Press as like a strong cup of coffee. K-cup French Roast is runner up, is easy to make and get a good cup of coffee. Very happy with the Keurig K-cup system when no time to grind beans.
Pros: Exceptional/Interesting Flavor, Balanced Acidity, Not Bitter
I have been drinking Starbucks French Roast almost exclusively for as long as I can remember. For the last year or so, I was mostly using the VIA Instant French Roast in the mornings to avoid making a whole pot since I am the only coffee drinker in the house. Then my son bought me a Keurig K-cup coffee maker for Christmas and now all I drink is Starbucks French Roast K-cups. I tried other brands of coffee and other flavors of Starbucks but none compares to the French Roast. It is what coffee should taste like. For friends of mine who prefer a medium roast, I have other types of Starbucks but for me, it's French Roast all the way. If I feel like something milder, I add cream and sugar to the coffee but the excellent coffee flavor still comes through.
I usually like a nice, strong cup of coffee, but I found this to be quite bitter. It has a nice aroma and good body, but once swallowed, it follows up with a very bitter taste. It seems to leave a bitter aftertaste that mellows out with time. I have had this brand straight from the Starbuck's stores and it didn't seem to be as bitter as the K-cup is. I won't be buying this one again.
Pros: Attractive Mouthfeel/Body, Pleasing Aroma
Cons: Bitter, Unpleasant Aftertaste, Unpleasant Flavor, Unbalanced Or Sharp Acidity
