I love my new chair. I have lower back problems if my back is not supported. This chair is amazing. I choose to pull it into my family room to watch tv or read as opposed to sitting on the couch. It is that comfortable.
I recently started working 3 days at in my home office. I was suffering from low back and wrist pain due to the set up of my desk and chair. I did some research on the Staples website to find a chair. This chair met all my expectations. My husband put the chair together within 15 minutes. The chair is HEAVY! There is no chance of tipping it over. The lumbar support is wonderful. I'm used to a fabric/cushion chair I'm hoping that the mesh holds up.
We have searched and review many office chairs some of which were very expensive. This chair was by far the best chair for the price...they are almost too comfortable!
I was looking for a true mesh chair not one of those mesh backs and foam seats. To me the seat is where you need the mesh. So I went into my local Staples expecting to buy the Hyken Technical mesh chair which was on sale. But after checking that out and sitting in a lot of chairs I settled on the 1500TM. The Hyken while it had a mesh seat had a cushioned edge under the knees which I found hard and uncomfortable. The 1500TM has a mesh edge with a "waterfall" profile that supports the back of the legs without cutting off the circulation. The chair has the usual suspect adjustments: chair height backrest angle armrest height. You can also adjust the seat length the backrest height and the armrest angles. One of the things I like the best is the very pronounced lumbar support. It is also mesh and really pillows the lower back. The lumbar support is attached to the seat back so is raised and lowered with the back; it is not independently adjustable but I really don't see a need for that anyway. The only slight criticism I have is that the lowest seat height is still about 1/2"-1" higher than I would like. I use a footrest when working on the computer and I may replace the wheels with something smaller so it is not a big issue. I find the chair very comfortable even when sitting for long periods and the mesh is much better than any of the leather or fabric padded chairs I've had in the past.
The chair has a terrible strong chemical odor of plastic vinyl or who-knows-what. It continues to outgas even many weeks after I assembled it. I keep hoping it will finally stop stinking but I doubt now that that will happen. I purchased the chair after sitting in it in the Store and it was delivered promptly via UPS. Ergonomically it is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. The chair arrived unassembled direct from the warehouse and unfortunately on many counts I was not able to assemble it until 2 weeks later which was beyond the grace period for returns or exchanges. Easy assembly and again the most comfortable chair ever. BUT I cannot and will not sit in it or even put it into my office which is a small 10 'x10' enclosed space due to the terrible odor it emits.
