Hard side, check bags, dent more easily than expected!

Decided to try a hard side piece of luggage for the first time. I like the design, interior pockets and unique locking system very much. Maneuvering the medium piece was a breeze through several airports. My only complaint is that on my very first trip from Boston to Rome, my bag came out with a sizable dent across the top. That has never happened to my LongChamp soft side bag that I’ve had for many years. I am now disappointed to be using a bag that looks old instead of brand new.
I finally got to use my new Platinum Elite Medium Check-In Hardside Spinner on a recent trip and I love my purchase! I have a set of softside luggage in the Platinum Elite spinners that I purchased several years ago. It is still in great condition after many trips. However, my husband's Samsonite luggage had seen better days, so he now uses my Travelpro softside luggage and I wanted to try the hardside. I find you can get more in the Platinum Elite hardside suitcase and everything stays organized. The only minor con is the hardside case does not have the grip handle on the bottom of the suitcase like the softside has, which makes loaded it in and out of a vehicle, or lifting it off the baggage carousel a bit tricky. All of the positives about this luggage far outweigh this minor con. Can't wait to use it again on our next trip in a couple of weeks. I highly recommend the Platinum Elite Hardside luggage.
Shell feels sturdy, and I'm surprised at how lightweight it actually is. The inner organization zip pockets feel like they'll last the lifetime as well. Wheels are super smooth and orient without any effort. Overall very pleased after two domestic flights and walking along carpet, cement/concrete, pavement, and even cobblestone.
