The Sunseeker has a major issue with accurately following the mapped boundaries. I can carefully map out my entire yard, but when I start mowing, the mower doesn't follow the actual locations I mapped. Sometimes it only mows half the yard, while other times it ends up tearing up my mulch or driving into the street.
What's especially frustrating is that I can clearly see the outline of my house, sidewalk, and yard on the map. The mower even appears to be following the lines shown in the app, but its actual physical location is completely off. It's as if the entire map has shifted.
I've had to remap my yard multiple times, and the problem continues. A robotic mower should be able to consistently recognize and stay within its mapped boundaries, especially when those boundaries are near streets and landscaping. This makes it difficult to trust the mower to operate unattended. I am close to returning it at this point.
I couldn’t be happier with this purchase! I have a normal size yard in suburbia Illinois. Super flat and not fenced. Took me one hour to set up and remotely create Peggy’s boundaries. BTW, I’m older and not tech savvy. Her first cut took awhile but as she and I both started learning more about each other we’ve already cut the mowing time in half! So far I still have to use my trimmer for the tight spots. Hope to have that dialed in by next mowing season though. After just two cuts my yard has never looked better. If only everyone in town would have one of these little Sunseekers! Oh, mine came with the add on garage. I can’t imagine not having it or some form of shelter for it.
So far I have been impressed. I have a lawn that is not traditional with various types of grass. I needed to cut the lawn first to have it work well, but after that it maintained it nicely.
