Terrible - DO NOT BUY

I received this Crock-Pot as a gift and used it once to make Buffalo Chicken Dip. I finished the first process of melting the cream cheese with the rest of the ingredients and then added my shredded cheese and switched to keep warm. I went outside to spend time with my guests and when returned it was boiling out of control on the KEEP WARM setting. The dip was ruined and I am afraid to use this crockpot again. Crock-Pot should be ashamed of this product and it should be recalled!!!!

Outer unit hot to touch even when off

Love the programmable features and the "warm" mode but worrisome that the crockpot get hot as soon as I plug it in and stays hot for a long time after it is turned off if it is plugged in. The outer case is hot to the touch within 3 minutes of plugging the unit in. Not something I really like when this is supposed to be on for hours.

Hello.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you've encountered with your new Crock Pot. We understand your concerns.

Please be informed that due to the proximity between the heating element and the exterior of our slow cookers, it is normal for them to get quite hot on the outside. The heating element wraps around the sides of the unit. Therefore, on both the outside of the unit and in the product's instruction manual we recommend using a hot pad if you need to touch the unit during cooking.

Once again, we regret any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach to us directly via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Eastern Time.

Thank you and take care!

I'm not happy with performance of this slow cooker. It cooks the food to fast on slow and burns food
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Response from crock-pot.comBy Customer CareJune 24, 2024
Hello!

The unit can also boil on High and Low. We do recommend that you always fill your slow cooker 1/2 - 3/4 of the way full, including at least one cup of liquid or sauce. You may have to adjust your cook times accordingly, especially if you are using older slow cooker recipes, or adapting regular recipes for slow cooker use. This will prevent the food from drying out and burning.

If you note no improvement while using these guidelines, please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am -5 pm Eastern Time.

Thank you!

Cooking on low WILL burn your food.
on June 14, 2024
Posted by: Nessa2012
I have only used this model twice to slow cook some chili. After setting it up on low for a 6-hour timer, I, like many others, thought it would be safe to leave and take care of some other things before the meal was ready. Both times, I come back to check on the chili within two hours, and the chili is already starting to burn. Two hours? What's the point of having the timer if there only seems to be one temperature setting?
